STIX 0 #1 Posted January 4, 2006 Hey everyone, I am so excited because my chess game is evolving!! I just caught someone making a dire mistake, check it out. Capture queen I have failed to see such oprotunities before, and let it be a lesson to some people that every piece has its strengths and weaknesses, in the case of the bishiop, you can 'hold' pieces down by 'spearing' them to the king! Subtemperate 29 #2 Posted January 4, 2006 You did well, but I think they found a way out of the queen loss...if i am looking at the right game.
BurnSide 7 #3 Posted January 4, 2006 Yeah, it looks like they just blocked your Bishop with the horse so now you cannot take the Queen. So you didn't actually capture it. 'Spearing' as you put it is a great way of capturing pieces, i've been foiled many times by the horse because it can check your king and cover another piece at the same time, making you have to move the king and lose the other piece.
