news icon rResearchers scouring the remote forests of the African island nation of Madagascar have found that tiny assassin spiders, grotesque-looking bugs that prey on other spiders, are more diverse than previously thought.

The newly discovered species could shed light on how assassin spiders evolved, and perhaps point scientists to other places in Madagascar where other types could be located.

Hey! I posted this two days ago. Flattering. :D

Didn't the world have enough spiders already? I am such an arachnaphobe; I scream like a little girl whenever I see one.

I'm still trying to make heads or tails of the picture. I can't seem to make out what are legs and what is jaw. It looks like his prey is the little critter at the top, so I image that is where the jaws are.

Scary beastie.

He is an odd looking spider, glad it only grows to an eighth of a inch.

It seems as if they will never stop discovering new species of bugs.
