Patterson road has officially been debunked!

after reading lalo's story from earlier in this thread, A few friends and I decided to go check the place out with an open mind. I'll admit, we were scared at first, the road is very creepy and dark.

after a few minutes of sitting on each bridge we got bored and left.

a few days later we wanted to go back and devote more time to it, and only went in a group of 3 for added creepyness.

Nothing happened.

We then tried taunting the ghost by yelling racial (mexican and german) ghost slurs at them and telling them they deserve to be ghosts.

nothing happened.

we then got out of the car and p***ed on the bridge while yelling more racial ghost slurs.

nothing happened.

we then took turns leaving eachother behind like in lalo's story.

nothing happened.

We then took a trip to the gas station, bought some gasoline, went back to the bridge, and burned a pentigram on the road. We then p***ed on the burning pentigram while yelling more racial ghost slurs.

nothing happened.

Needless to say, if ghosts were real, i think they would have shown themselves or atleast tapped on the damn car.

No my friend, don't worry about the Haunted Patterson Rd. Don't focus on that road, but focus on the whole area. To prove my statement, please stand at the corner of Patterson and Eldridge. As you stand there, do a 360 degree turn and you will immediately notice all the CROSSES around you from all the death. I have not posted on this thread for a few months now, and I tell you that since then, 6 more deaths have occurred. As you look around, you will notice flowers and crosses in the grass, in the woods where they found a bikers body, accross the guard rail is another one, all deaths and in the past and now have mounted over 15 deaths. So, no, it has not been debunked. What is even more strange is that the crashes were all head on collisions. How do you have a head on collision if you can see nearly a mile ahead of you?

Those of you who live near this area like I do and love this area need to know of the fatality yesterday of Mister Buck. Creep waded through a mile and half of mashland to the back of the fence to get Mister Buck. I'm relieved that they have a bloodhound working on it and he has the scent. $5000 reward. Certainly someone will come forward with knowledge for $5000. http://www.khou.com/topstories/stories/kho....1e970f001.html

I grew up in SPring Branch across from Nob Hill park and was always attracted to this area for the positiveness of the area. I live in Bear Creek village now. I love the rustic woods of the park and the areas being preserved in Katy by the Katy Conservatory. As teens people would go to the blue light cemetary and I went once but was horrified at the disrespect for the dead. Even back in the 70's there was a problem with goats being killed at the farm and ranch area and blood drained from their bodies. This is a very peaceful, lovely area.

This is the first I have heard of the civil war and the haunting stories. Just FYI, I was rear ended twice on Hwy 6, once right there at Patterson road and the other one closer up to Clay. Both times my car was totalled and I and my family were unharmed. I feel blessed now that I survived the crashes. I'm going to check into this more. I know there is an army barracks behind my subdivision but I don't think it's a civil war barracks. Bealie

Poor Mr. Buck... I can't believe someone would decapitate his head like that. I'm going there today to pay my respects to Mr. Buck. I used to scratch his head and feed him grass. He was so cool that he would react to people. I used to lean on the fence and he would come over and push on the fence again me, and when I pushed back harder, you could see him plant his feet for better fotting so that he would push harder.

RIP Mr Buck!

Yeah... That was sickening. But what do you expect when this is the "bad" side of Katy. I actually live in Silvermill and used to go to Mayde Creek so I guess that makes me one of the "little punks."

So, anyone thinking of doing some looking around any time soon? Not sure if it has been mentioned but there are three cemeteries as far as I know. I've taken some pictures of one of them.:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43/Strid...=HPIM1008BW.jpg

http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y43/Strid...=HPIM1018BW.jpg

http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y43/Strid...=HPIM1030BW.jpg

I edited them a little to increase the contrast as well as making them black and white.

If I were to join in for an investigation I have a 7.2 megapixel digital camera and a voice recorder. (Though I might buy more if I wind up doing this more often.)

Well, I have plans to go and take pictures with a friend Saturday after work. Hopefully we can get some good ones... Though I still don't believe "orbs" are paranormal.

My friend and I went out there this evening and adventured around the forest for the Bluleight cemetery, and we found it. It was pretty evil feeling. My mother told me that there have during her age she said that some animal sacrificing had been done by a cult like group during the late 70's. Both her and my father had been there before. Anyways, after we explored the area we decided to head over to Patterson road for further investigation upon the tapping spirits. And of course like so many of you we had a divine encounter with the ghosts. It was probably around 9 p.m. and dusk, there was a lighting storm on the horizon so, the scene laid out for a perfect scary movie. We went to the first bridge, sat there for a little while nothing but a small howl of the wind yet, there was no wind. Then we went to the second bridge. After a few minutes of waiting around again, there came knocking upon the back windshield of my car. Yet unlike most of the taps, this one had a syncopated rhythm to it. 4 taps and then nothing but the howling wind noise after that. Then as the storm gained on us, we decided to leave. As we headed down the road, a mysterious blue orb of light flashed in my car and disappeared. Strange and there is no way we can explain it... If anyone has had similar experience with this please let me know.

I recently moved to the area in late June/early July to the Sommerall subdivision. If my botfriend and I go farther into town, we usually travel over Bear Creek Bridge. I just learned of the hauntings and strange occurences, yeat for the past 3 months, I have gotten bizzar feelings while traveling over the bridge. Sometimes I'm sad, scared, or even angry and I'm not sure why. The last time I went over it, it was around midnigt last Wednesday with 2 friends and my little brother who were dropping me off before heading home to Nacogdoches(now that is a haunted town. Enire thing built on Indian mounds)and for no reason at all, I just wanted to get off the bridge and back on highway 6, but it seemed like the roadway just streatched on farther than I know it does. I want to investigate, I'm sensitive to energies like most of my relatives, so I feel like I would be able to makesome sort of contact, yet I'm scared to beacause the last time I tried making contact with an entity, it turned out to be demonic or evil. I am interested of learing mor of this area and others around where I live if anyone would inform me.

I live less that a mile from this location and as a kid we would ride our horses behind Addicks Dam all the time I think the first time I ever went to Blue Light I was 13 with my brother. I am now 44 and I ride my bike down patterson all the time. I don't remember if I ever had any strange experiences but I can assure you that the MVA's that happen at Eldridge and Patterson may have something to do with that it is a 4 lane, very dark road with no street lights that has a sharp turn right there at patterson.

People who have not witnessed ghosts/strange things on the bridge are not open. Not everyone can see or exp. these things! Every single person in the world is different some have this gift others don't. Please do not judge people just because you have not experienced what they have.

I have heard about Patterson Road being Haunted and the whole, "car tapping/being pushed" stuff. But I went out there last night and took some pictures and did some recording. I did get one very interesting photo. I'm not going to go into great detail unless anyone has questions but here is the photo.

My finger is in the picture unfortunately :/

There are a few other pics on my facebook along with that one. I'm planning on going back tomorrow night!

About a month ago my 15 year old daughter was with a group of her friends on Patterson Rd. They knew of the ghost stories so decided to stop on Bear Creek bridge and see if they would experience anything. All the kids got out of the car except my daughter who was not feeling well and thought the whole thing was stupid (as she did not believe in it). While she was in the car by herself, her window and her window only suddenly fogged up. She initially thought this was because she was the only one in the car and her breath or body heat had caused it. However, when everyone else came back to the car (they didn’t have any strong experiences) and they started the car and drove my daughter home, THE WINDOW NEVER CLEARED!

Following that incident, my daughter began to experience strange phenomenon usually when she was around water (taking a shower or washing her hands, etc.). She heard strange noises when she was in the shower and had a bathroom stall door swing back and forth in restaurant restroom while she was the only one in it. Several photos that were made of her over this time had an orb in them. She and I were in our kitchen one evening and while we both had our backs turned toward the center island a plastic cup that had been placed on the island, but not near the edge, suddenly flew off and hit the floor, spilling water everywhere. This incident was repeated twice more over the past few weeks.

Also over the past few weeks there have been three times when I was by myself in the kitchen area and saw clearly, but in my periphery a teenage boy walk quickly through a hall in the house. He was always at exactly the same spot.

Last night, while my daughter was in the shower, my wife and I heard four solid and distinct raps on our front iron door. There are two very odd things about this. First, from where we sat we could see clearly through the glass in the door and the sidelights on the door that no one was there. Second, our dogs always go crazy when anyone knocks or rings the bell. In this instance, the dogs did nothing; as if they did not hear it at all.

A strange thing about all this activity in our house is that at no time did any of us feel scared or threatened in any way. It was just amusing that this ghost wanted to get our attention and has some sort of attraction to our daughter. Despite not feeling scared by him we decided last night that it was time for the ghost to go home.

After her shower my daughter and I devised a plan. We decided that we would repeat the original Patterson Road incident but in the opposite direction. She and I got in my truck and opened the windows and invited the ghost to come with us. We drove to Patterson road and stopped on the Bear Creek bridge and killed the lights and engine with the windows down. After sitting for a few minutes, we heard some heavy splashes in the water and then what sounded like footsteps in the woods. Sitting here on the bridge I did feel some sort of dark presence. The hairs on the back of my neck were up and I began to get teary eyed. The sounds died away and we decided that nothing else was going to happen, so I started the truck and drove down to Eldridge. Just as we were turning on Eldridge I happened to glance up at the temperature gauge in the truck and saw that it was reading -24 degrees F! I pointed this out to my daughter and started to reach up and reset the gauge when the reading started to ramp up. Over several minutes it came up to 64 degrees where it stayed for a while. Then it finally came up to 73 degrees which was probably the real temperature.

I’m not a ghost chaser and have never had a strong interest in the subject. However, I do now believe that we had (and may still have) a Patterson Road ghost in our house. I don’t think the one we had was evil at all, he just wanted my daughter’s attention. Also I do believe that there are some dark spirits on Patterson and hopefully last night our visitor stayed there rather than us picking some of the bad ones up!

I don't know if anyone is still interested in hearing more about this place, but I just got back from a 8 person excursion straight to the absolute heart of the blue light cemetery, and guess what. We were surrounded by the most intense blue fog imaginable. I'm somewhat of a skeptic and it moved me unbelievably.

The cemetery is pretty overgrown and still surrounded by a chain link fence, however someone cut a hole in the back of the fence allowing easy access. We went in and took a closer look... their were new grave markers, maybe 12 x 6 in listing names and dates of those buried. There WAS ONE original grave stone which is badly worn and you can barely make out any of the engravings on it. Luckily there is one of the new smaller grave markers nearby that matches up with it. The best part is I have a few pics, the only thing that came out well was the gravestone and some orbs on my friends back exactly in the spot wings would be coming from... if there is any interest in seeing them on this site I'll upload them!

We didn't notice the blue fog until after we left the cemetery and decided to sit in the open clearing that used to be the town, it then surrounded us like I have NEVER seen before.

ABSOLUTELY MAJESTIC

Maybe this is why? <img src="http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> Two people were murdered behind the cemetery where you felt watched.

<a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5389/1110/1600/a-murder.jpg" target="_blank">http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5389/11...00/a-murder.jpg</a>

<i>This is an old cemetery on Eldridge Parkway at Enclave Parkway. The most recent grave is from circa 1916. I don't know who any of these people were or why they forever rest in their own little plot for all time. This is now a pocket park owned by Harris County. It was also this area that on August 22, 1990, the bodies of Cheryl Henry and Andy Atkinson were found. They went out to Bayou Mama's at Westheimer and Gessner and never came home. <u>Her body was found with hands bound behind her and her throat cut as was his</u>. On March of 2001, Houston Police Homicide detectives received a handwritten letter that asked for $100,000 in exchange for the identity of the killer. However, still today, the case remains free and some maniac got away with a double murder.</i>

Very, very interesting! I haven't been on here in awhile and it's good to see this topic is still going. Thank you for the information. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/original.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="original.gif" />

OMG.. This made my stomach drop. I posted about this place recently, about how creepy it was. I didn't know there had been a double murder there. Oh gees, I feel weird....

I posted about this and the story above here. I'm sorry if this is not allowed, I find it easier than retyping it.

Now aside from ghosts, this is really scary. I live in the area I have been on this road often. I looked it up last night, just different wrecks, and it's insane there is a fatality almost every month! Why hasn't someone done something about this road?? There is too many deaths here. You would figure they would have put up bright lights, more signs, something. I'm totally going to avoid this road by all means. I'm going to look into who I need to contact to about this. This is insane.

I lived in that area when i was still at my parents place...there were a number of times I used patterson to cut down to get to hwy 6...i've never stopped, but, I always got really funny feelings down that road...feelings of sadness. It was always very very dark...for being such a straight road, and a straight shot to hwy 6, i would think you could see the traffic to the next major road pretty well, but I could never see anything until getting right upon hwy 6...

i pick paranormal vibes up naturally since early childhood, so when there is something there, I sense it...going down this road, i've always been alone, so I would not stop, but I can say...there really is something there.

this is regarding blue light cemetery and bear creek area ...i do a lot of history investigations and the bear creek /blue light cemetery claims being a battle sight during the civil war era, i never came up with any info stating that this location ever seen a battle....there are only three locations that are documented....the battle of sabine pass, galveston, and palmetto ranch "brownsville". now the german community that settled in bear creek area may have been union sympathizers and may have had a few run in's or skirmishes with the confederates soldiers. if anybody have more info on this other than rumors or supposed to be please send it my way....i would like to research it more.....i have been investigating the area for paranormal activity and it is a hotbed of activity. :-)

Some links to the accidents......

So far now, I have witnessed 6 of them on this road. All deaths are mysterious because thses people die from head on collisions, but how when drivers have half a mile of visibility?

http://www.houstontx.gov/police/nr/nr022705-1.htm

And another one within a quarter mile..

http://www.houstontx.gov/police/nr/nr022205-3.htm

Notice the dates of the accidents.

There was a new fatal accident just this past weekend involving an 18 wheeler that apparently crashed, but it was more of a freak accident.

You've personally witnessed 6 accidents???

I grew up in spring branch near shadow oaks elementary. I remember going out and picking shrooms near blue light cemetery in the early eighties. There was holes dug everywhere from looters? Does anyone recall the large pine tree with yellow paint saying BEWARE. Scared the **** out of me as a kid. We got lost out there and came across a brick spiral used for sacrafices. There were hypodermic needles everywhere there. Next to it was an old brick water well full of the needles. We had to use the planes landing at the airport to find our way home. Cool memories

I'm so glad I came across this thread...

I have always been interested in ghosts/hauntings, mainly because my mom and sister have seen things, but never saw anything myself until this past weekend.

I can't remember what got me looking into this, but I was researching places that people claim are haunted in the Houston area (I live in Sugar Land) when I came across the stories of Patterson Road/Blue light cemetary. I was pretty intrigued by what everyone was saying, so this past Friday night a couple of friends and I decided to check the place out. Now let me just say, this road is PITCH BLACK at night. Creepy as ****. Turning from Eldridge onto Patterson road, we were like "You've got to be effing kidding me..." We drove slow, mainly because there were a few other cars parked there. We were too creeped out at first to stop on the bridge (there are 2, the one crossing over Lagham Creek is the one that has a lot of activity) and drove until we reached Hwy 6. We decided to turn around though and actually stop on the bridge, like everyone says to do. The 3 of us were sitting there, creeped out because we kept thinking we were seeing things. There a lot of deer in this area, and we'd jump if we saw one prance across the street. We didn't really hear any tapping noises on the car, and we dismissed our feelings of unease pretty quickly. We were there about 5 minutes or so before we decided to leave. We felt disappointed, but hey, it was worth a try. We went to a gas station on Hwy 6 (having to go down Patterson a 3rd time) and then realized we would need to head down Patterson AGAIN to get to Eldridge. My friend who was driving decided that she wanted to stop on the bridge another time, just to give it one last shot. By this time, we were pretty relaxed. She turned off the car and lights and we just let our eyes adjust to the darkness. I wasn't really expecting to see anything at this point, but I kept my eyes toward the front of the car. Now, this is where I have trouble explaining: I saw feet walking towards the center of the bridge that were very clearly human feet. It was about a car length away. I dismissed the idea of it being another deer because it wouldve had to of climbed over the guardrail, and there is a creek below... And before I could say anything, there was a car coming from the other side of Patterson. The light that was emitted from their headlights bounced off of our headlights(which were off) and we ALL saw a full black apparation blocking a portion of the light, much closer to our car. We all started freaking out, my friend tried to start the car and IT WOULDN'T START! Finally, after a couple of tries, we were able to get it started and get out of there. Man, we all had goosebumps and the hair on the back of our heads was up. It was quite an experience, for us to be able to see what other people have seen on Patterson. I still want to visit the Blue Light Cemetary, but that will have to wait until next weekend :)

All I can say is seeing really is believing. Any skeptic can come on here and tell me I'm wrong, that what I saw doesn't coincide with the laws of physics, or that I didn't see anything at all. No, I don't have proof that I really saw what I saw, except for the fact that 2 other people saw the exact same thing. I'd love to go back this weekend and try to get some pictures, I'll be sure to post!
