We might be part of Europe but the football people still want to fight them , it must be a a British trait

How's it go? "It's not whether you win or lose that counts, but how you play the game"

What happened to gracefully losing?

Sheeesh!

Why are they considered as hooligens i think the European fans are just as bad

:lol::lol::lol:

They're considered hooligans because they are hooligans, and yes some from Europe are just as bad. Our fans will behave because about 3,000 of the worst ones are banned from flying out there.

In more recent tournements English fans behaviour has been commended, however I suspect this is more because the worst ones can't go anymore rather than them actually not causing any trouble.

Edit: And it's English fans suspected of being hooligans, not British. Britain doesn't have a football team. Not to mention the rest of the UK didn't qualify.

1. As Barman points out there is no such thing as a single British Football team.

2. Second this is an outrageous claim. Scottish football fans abroad are perfectly well behaved, they party win or lose, and usually with the opposing fans. The Tartan Army has won countless awards of good behaviour in tournaments; its an old national joke - that our team doesn't bring home the titles but the fans do.

3. The title of this thread is unnecessarily insulting Scots, Welsh and Irish since there is no mention of British fans in the actual report. It refers to "Police and football authorities are preparing for a influx of more than 100,000 English football supporters" not British. England, whilst part of Britain, is not Britain billystevo.

I don't care what nationality they are.. there is no place in football or indeed any sport for this behaviour. These individuals are not sports fans they are just organised groups of thugs looking for trouble.

Talon.. don't try to paint a pretty picure of scottish football, with all the sectarian crap involved with the rivalry between Rangers the Protestant team and the Catholic team Celtic... yet another opportunity for you to attack the English. You need to accept Scotland is part of Great Britain.

However... the English thugs do need to be taken care of and hopefully the Germans will do just that.

1. Rangers and Celtic are individual teams who fight over religion, they are not the National Team which is the issue here. I specifically said the Tartan Army which does, like it or not, win awards for their behaviour. The Tartan Army has nothing to do with the Old Firm and their fighting over religious background. Nowhere did even hint that the Old Firm weren't an embarrassment.

2. Nowhere did I attack the English, I simply pointed out that the article refers only to England football supporters (not British which the topic title implied) and that the UK consists of more than just England.

3. In regards to you're 'You need to accept Scotland is part of Great Britain', if you'd actually read my post before replying to it you'd have noticed I actually pointed out to someone that there was more than just England in Britain, I specifically remember posting the words "England, whilst part of Britain, is not Britain" which logically would imply there are other members and since I mentioned Scots, Welsh and Irish in a sentence which referred to British football fans, it would thus imply that I am quite aware that Scotland is part of GB.
