Some photos I took this morning while walking around Lake Flaten outside Stockholm.

Look, I got an orb! First time that happens to me, but then again I haven't had my digicam for very long.

And here's a tricky one for y'all. Can you tell what's weird about it? ^_^

I forgot about this thread in my forum absence. There's some incredible work posted here!!

Harks i adore that picture of the corroded structure in the water, that's really amazing. That sunset is also absolutely fabulous!

Shadow Dancer, those Orchids are breathtaking. Good work!

I have a few to post from camping, but here's a couple of the fire for now.

Speaking of flames, I just got back from taking the local High School Fire Academy Cadets to a fire training center called "MERTS Training center" in Astoria Oregon. The training center has several rooms inside of it that we can start huge fires in order to be able to practice putting fires out.

The best part is that the kids have never been in a real fire environment before so it is amazing to see the look on their eyes when you have them crawl into a room that is 900 degrees F. at the ceiling and 400 F. two feet off of the floor... Their eyes get about as big as saucers; some get hooked, some get scared...it is amazing to witness.

I have always wanted to get good pictures of the burn rooms, but I only have a cheap digital...Film cameras do not do well in high heat, but I decided to try and give my digital a chance and see what happened. Most of the photos didn't do well as the heat and steam fogged up the lense after a few seconds, but I got a couple to come out. Keep in mind that the rooms are filled with smoke after a few minutes of fire, so some of the photos are hazy for a real reason.

After working in chemical laboratories for 20 years that is about number 3 on my list of things people say that really scare me.

Number 2 is, "I like explosions," and number 1 is, "what happens when I mix these two together?"

Below are a few photos I've taken in my travels over the past few years. The South Lake Tahoe pictures were taken in May of 2004. Favorable weather, snow caps, and cheap accomodations due to slow tourism made it an ideal month to visit.

Whoa dude, I don't think you wanna be near me if I'm in a lab! :w00t:

Is it panoramic?

Nope, it has nothing to do with the camera or it's settings, which are the same as in all the other pics anyway. A clue: look at how the trees are growing.
