Now... here are just a few of the pics i took while in Cancun visiting Chitzen Itza. Of course there are plenty more. I finally just got the scanner and am a newbee at it. I hope this works and that they turned out.

What a trip!

Actually... i shall put one here and send the rest via email to Gareth so he can upload them himself.

Thanks,

I emailed Saruman about 10 or so... I actually took about a film and a bit more worth of pictures there that day, but I'm still trying to get used to my scanner and photo shop... :)

Ah well.... here's another one for now... this is a pic of me beside the main temple... you can really judge for size.

[blue]Great photographs.

I'd love to go visit all the great archeological sites of the world:

Giza, Chitzen Itza, Macchu Picchu etc.

Loonboy,

I have been to Giza. It was a disappointment with all the commercialism, but I'm glad I went anyways.

Hmm..... I'll try again Saruman...

but just to keep some of you going  haha

here's what the view looks like from the top looking down the main staircase....  some people were seriously even to scared to go back down... it's got to be a 70 degree angle.

Some were too scared to go back down?  That'd be me!!   :o  I got dizzy just looking a the picture!

BTW,  how does one get down otherwise?

Is there an emergency ramp?  :s04

I'll admit... it wasn't an easy task... but there is a rope chain going straight down the middle of the stairs.... :s02

            Again,  great photos,  Mystify!!

Are you allowed inside any of the structures,  and what is the difference between the pyramids and that one called a castle?  The warrior temple was impressive with so many columns!  I can just imagine how it looked when it was complete!

Beatiful i would have been!! It would have had a roof. The columns were called the 1000 columns as well. Temple of warriors right beside it would have been a beautiful city. The castle is the main pyramid that everyone knows of. Most of the structures unfortunately cannot allow tourists to climb and such due to recent vandalism  >:( >:(

Shame!   Anywho... the main castle on the other hand still has 2 staircases accessible to public if you dare to climb them!

There is also a shaft leading inside.... but because lighting is very poor you can only access it at certain times.

Palenque as our tour guide says it.... "is 100 times more beautiful than Chitzen Itza"... hard to beleive but worth checking I think.

I hope to go back next year.

Mystify,

Great pictures! I will go there when I am older and when I got enough money!

PS,

Well, the money wouldn't be the problem I think....  :s03
