Well, i've said it before and i'll say it a million times again...

As long as your beleifs suit you, then that's fine by me... Christian, buddist, muslim, jewish; WHATEVER! If it suits you, then fine... Just as long as you don't push it on me, which you're not... :tu:

My goodness i'm glad, you are the first person NOT accusing me of pushing my religion.you actually changed my mind about science a little, its so great how a little respect can go a long way. yay, :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

AS is normal for most Christians i've talked to, you don't even know what you're saying.

The bible basically says you will be ridiculed and downtrodden for your beliefs in god, but you will go to heaven. It does NOT say that if you are a martyr you get a better life in heaven. It says heaven is a place where you eternally bow down and chant to the lord, and everyone who gets to heaven does. It says nothing about favorites.

It's bizarre enough already.. There's no need to make it more so.

************why does every athiest here think that everyone else is a christian? Christianity isn't the only religion. There are lots of people who follow other paths. Why do you go assuming that I'm a christian?

yea it's Genesis God created man on the 6th day, it's the order in which God created the earth according to the bible.

It sounds kind of wacked out. Science explains it better.

Edited for language, swearing is not permitted!

thankyou for being nice and not trying to insult me like everyone else does. I agree with you in some respect. I wasnt trying to bash Science i was just trying to say that when used as a belief structure its kinda shaky. I like science, my brother is a forensic scientist, i think its pretty cool, i just think to actually base a entire belief of your exsistence on science is kinda flawed. Maybe, maybe not

Um Gwyny you do reilase that believing God created us, and nothing else is also flawed. Even more so than evolution. And plus, if I find out Gid does exist, nd he sends me to hell. I'd tell him off. Honestly I would. I mean, how many Atheists do you think jave made extremely generous contributions to charities? And then after doing that, getting sent to somewhere you are going to get tortured for he rest of your immortal existence, just because you didn't beleive in God, which has no evidence backing him?!? Or her. Or, in infact who says it's even human-like!

yea science is more believeable, but if God really is who he is, then he can create anything, anyway he wants to. Who know maybe god created evolution?

My goodness, am i defending someone who beleives in God???? Shock horror!! J/k

No, because God had the choice to make us immortal... But he placed a tree in the garden, knowing well that man and woman might eat from it... And then, the so called "all forgiving" God banished us.. So he is partially to blame

I agree If he never put the apple in the tree, we

would've never have commited the action of eating the apple.

In other words, If the apple had never existed then it would be

Impossible for us to eat that specific apple,

but god made the apple exist so it's his fault

that we commited the action of eating that specific apple.

And in the bible it says that god is alll forgiving but,

instead of forgiving us he banished us.

Which is why I don't believe in the bible.

The theory that god created evolution is the most believable theory about

spirituallity & science; personally I believe in that theory;

but the bible is what i doubt doesn't make a lot of sense to me,

but that doesn't mean i don't believe in god.

Do you honestly believe such a loving God would create a place such as hell? Really, does that sound like the loving and forgiving God we know?

Yep; personally I beleive in the Big Bang theory, you know, where the universe imploded on itself and then that's what created THIS universe... But the idea that god created evolution seems pretty plausible to me, even tho i don't beleive in any God

Then exceller, why did he create a heaven? To reward his follwers? The people who did well? What is the point of having a Heaven if there is no oppisite, in this case Hell? It's like yin and yang. One can not exist without the other. As Desty has already said (I beleive it was her any way) how can their be pain without joy? It all revolves around that there must be an oppisite for something.

Also, sorry if my earlier post seemed insulting. I meant no harm

P.S: The quote doesn't work for me.

So if I'm correct, hell is a place where bad souls go to suffer eternally, right? and they go there for not believing in God or being a sinner.

Wouldn't that go against this:

"Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”—(Matt. 12:31–32)

I believe that if you sin in this life, you will be reincarnated, and given another chance. To me, it makes alot more sense.

Ecxe11er, thats my point. If an Atheist had donated thousnds of pounds to charity, and then he gets stuck in Hell to be tortured, just because he didn't believe in God? Or an Atheist scientist discovered a cure for AIDS, and stopped millions from suffering and dieing, yet he still gets sent to Hell to be tortured? It's the fact that if you do good but don't beleive in God, you get sent to Hell that gets me angry. Those Atheists could of/have saved lifes, but they still get tortured because they are Atheists? Even in their secnd lifes? Because to me, thats what the Bible, the word of God, puts across. And the fact is that most Christians follow the Bible like a toddler does parent

Is it possible for human to have all the answers and proof or must we rely a certain amount to hope and faith? Science is continually changing as new discoveries are made on a daily basis, the answers occasionally send us back to the drawing board and sometimes open an entirely new form science and reasoning. For instance quantum physics was for the longest time pure speculation and theory and now is receiving the credit and attention it deserves. We have a tendency to except scientific principles as dogma and in essence it has become a form of religion unto it self. With some adherents, so dogmatic that they reject anything to the contrary as being foolish and born of ignorance. Our personal view is blinded by our own arrogance and self worth to the point of actually stiffening our scientific progress as well as neutralizing our spirituality. We place our faith in proof and speculation and give little credit toward old wisdom and ancient knowledge, New and Improved has become the god of the twentieth century.

In reality if a man was to know all there is to know about this planet we call home we would consider him to be a genius among men. Yet even if it were possible to have all that knowledge we must also consider that this planet of ours is but a grain of sand in the vastness of the universe and that knowledge is extremely limited and miniscule leaving us right back were we started with speculation and faith.

Although I admire science and appreciate the strides it has taken us I personally have more faith in the Creator than I do in the sciences. If it is not possible to know everything there is to know then I believe a foundation of faith is greater than a foundation of uncertainty to build my life upon.

What I'm trying to say is that I don't believe in hell, but you do, right? Unfortunately, there can only be one truth, and who knows, as far as I know, this is hell:

"According to Them, Heaven is the state of perfection, and Hell that of imperfection; Heaven is harmony with God’s will and with our fellows, and Hell is the want of such 191 harmony; Heaven is the condition of spiritual life, and Hell that of spiritual death. A man may be either in Heaven or in Hell while still in the body. The joys of Heaven are spiritual joys; and the pains of Hell consist in the deprivation of these joys."

Now, Irish, if you're going to quote Darwin, you can't use the quote out of context.

After Darwin stated that the idea of a complex eye forming by natural selection seems absurd, he goes on to explain how he thinks it was indeed possible for a complex eye to form by natural selection.

What makes you think god is so forgiving and loving? When the apple was eaten he banished us instead of forgiving us his own son died a painful terrible death....and he could have stopped it but nope he sat by and watched him suffer.

Exce11er, I don't beleive in God, Heaven or Hell. I am just using it to put across my point thst is, why does God punish people who haven't done any wrong? I used Hell, as you said the man unto Holy Ghost thingy majig. I can't remember. To me, the Bible puts across that if you don't beleive in God, you go to Hell.

I've been thinking about the question JMPD asked, and I now have decided that God created us out of love. Or so I hope.

Yeah dude, take it easy. You sound like an angry pornstar. You also gotta learn how to spell. Bashing is against the forum rules. Unfortunately, I didn't know it was either.

I belive in myself i m real and i m the only one who can make my own desteny!!

Since you are a genius, you should that god never said he would control your life, neither did the prophets.

The point is that my belief structure has been the same for 2000 years has science?

To that I ask: Is it better to constantly get closer to the truth, or remain constantly wrong? The words in the bible are static, but the interpretation of them always changes... usually it changes in response to new scientific findings...
