Mr-X Posted May 14, 2002 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2002 In July 1996 a human skeleton was found in a park along the Columbia River in South Central Washington. Archeologists and scientist were stunned with the find because it was the oldest skeleton ever found in America. The skeleton was 9,200 year old. However the most mysterious thing about the find is that scientist have studied the skull and have found it not to be Indian but of a white man. They say that the Asians were the first to cross over to America but this find may change history as we know it. PurpleStuart Posted May 18, 2002 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2002 It's the same old story all over again, current day politics getting in the way of finding out the truth. Not that it should matter now who settled it first, apart from historical reasons. There are records of caucasians in south america (stone carvings) and in china ('mummys' found near the ghobi desert?) which go to show that historians have a lot to learn yet, even in the last few thoausand years
Althalus Posted May 18, 2002 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2002 Kennewick Man got took back by the american indians, who said that it was one of there ancestors, so the researchers could not do anymore tests on it.
