Letters to the Editor

Dear sirs:

As corrupt as it is to engage in the malignant and foul, it is just as low to be aware of them and not acknowledge it.

In their self-appointed, and largely unproven or even disproven, role as "white knight", the United States has hinged its actions of understandably high-sounding "principles". Acting, basically, toward the goal of reshaping the entire world in the image of Wall Street, built around the sole principle of making all governments connivingly enough constructed that corporate greed can always be satisfied and big business never required to abide by the rules of civilized society, the Oval Office obviously has had to reframe the discussion in convincing, if deceitful, propositions. They settled on the concept of depicting the U.S. as "promoting democracy".

But, if their basic, and unstated, true purpose is depraved and foul, it is expectable that it would show through in the form of their actions.

And, in fact, it does, in innumerably many ways.

The hypocrisy of condemning Muslims for purportedly trying to "force Islam on the entire world", while at the same time demanding that societies accept "democracy" at the point of a gun, illustrates the inner duplicity of both the administration and their machinations. The utter and debased viciousness of the universal tenet that, if a nation doesn't allow itself to be raped by corporate crooks in the U.S. and its Allies, it will be "bombed back into the stone age", demonstrates the ethical and moral vacuum at the center of George Bush's "New World Order" lunacy!

But it is as much in what the thugs in the administration don't say, as in what they do say, that echoes of the malevolence behind their actions can be perceived!

And one thing they never say reveals the ugliness at the heart of what is called "democracy". It is one of the many filthy secrets about the pustulent basic nature of that system of government!

Whenever the U.S. or one of its quislings shills the idea of "democracy" to masses being readied to be raped, they prate on universally about the idea of being allowed to complain about government. In denouncing the Muslim outcry against the patent attempt by Danish neo-Nazi publications to initiate a "clash of civilizations" by running caricatures of their religion, unethical supporters of the "New Word Order" endlessly invoked "freedom of speech". Whenever a convenient condemnation of a country not cooperating with Wall Street greed is called for, their purported restraints on "freedom of the press" are trotted out. And when some crook in league with GOP international criminality wants to play up the exercise in unethicality they call their “government”, they emphasize the freedom of speech they grant their citizens.

In the end, it’s true, the basic form of democracy does guarantee freedom of speech.

But that’s all it guarantees!

It doesn’t promise an active, aggressive initiative aimed at rooting out corruption in government! It doesn’t guarantee preventing criminal collusion between politicos and crooked corporate cronies! It doesn’t promise government action to ensure that the public have a decent quality of life!

It simply offers freedom of speech!

Politicians can steer “public policy” so the rich are guaranteed getting richer, but the “rank and file” are allowed to express their dissatisfaction. Corporate crooks can connive with politicos to be awarded obscenely fat government contracts for protracted work and substandard materials, but the public are permitted to complain about it. And the “rubes” can always vote against the politician they think did them dirty, assuming they believe the vote counts are legitimate, and not fixed so that the man the parties want to install is “elected”!

Just by chance, valid elections should have produced a portion of politicians who did well for the people, but how many politicos can you name who made things better for their constituencies? How could sheer chance have provided swindler after swindler after swindler after swindler after swindler?

The people are allowed to complain, but that’s all they’re allowed! They aren’t permitted an automatic mandate against legislation they find immoral or conniving! They aren’t permitted automatic quick recalls of evident criminals! They can’t even get an audience! They can complain, but that’s all! And try finding a newspaper in a thousand that prints more than a miniscule number of letters they receive. And it is eminently suspicious how every newspaper always so easily finds rebutting” letters to counter accusations of criminality against every politician! The “freedom” to express dissatisfaction with government, in a democracy, results in little more than shouting into the wind!

This, however, provides a view to what the legitimate next step of society should involve. Democracy must not be considered the end. There should always be a view toward replacing it with something better. And there are certain qualities that better system should entail.

Among other things, guarantees! The system that will replace democracy must include guarantees of quality of life, direct and simple access to government, quick and all but automatic mandate. No longer a matter of government busying itself about making the rich richer at the expense of the “rank and file” and deceiving the public into thinking they are being served! Government, now, must devote itself full time to finding the needs of all the public, and answering them! And firm restrictions must be placed on any organization or individual profiting off government. Contracts should be awarded solely on quality of service, not conniving contacts. And punishment for infractions should be significant, constituting more than three quarters of all personal holdings, and distributed directly to the public, not poured back into government coffers to be released secretly back into the criminals’ hands, again! And more hands on control of government by the public, as a whole, has to be emphasized. It must no longer be allowed to be a case of defrauding the people into thinking they “elected” some scum into office, then that crook going ahead and raping the system, claiming to be “doing the people’s bidding”!

To be sure, the threat that this all would present to big business perverting and corrupting the system for craven personal profit guarantees that the business world will have utter and complete enmity for these propositions. Their puppets in office will have nothing but derision for the idea of the public demanding guarantees of quality of life, as if that is a ludicrous notion, that the “rank and file” should be content with just being driven like “beasts of burden”, to support lavish, luxurious lives for criminal politicians and crooked CEO’s! They’ll gladly provide freedom of speech, because that’s all it represents, just the permission to complain, without the guarantee of anything substantive, in the public’s interest, resulting from it!

The public must demand that their interests be made first and foremost in public policy! They must flood politicians’ and news editors’ desks with emails and letter ordering them to do something about it. They must severely curtail all spending, both to large corporations and on evident government scams like “lotteries”! They must boycott all elections! Most importantly, they must keep involved in government around them, so that they can denounce the next sign of connivery, quickly and loudly!

First we'd have to get their attention away from the t.v. and the bag of potato chips...and I'm afraid the actions mentioned in the quote are easier said than done...

Also, you mention a new and better government, what kind specifically?...details, if any?...

I stopped reading after NWO came up, I think you're once again in the wrong section and wasting my time. Thanks for the 30 seconds of my life wasted reading I'll never get back. <_<

Long-winded cuss, aintcha?

Freedom of speech is a tool, used to inspire others to see that their government is responsive.

Today's American public is too apathetic and doesn't care. By and large, it would rather sit and b**** about the politicians but take no action.

Freedom of speech inspired America's founders to create a new nation, by force of arms. Today, it's used as a defense to show breasts in an exotic dance club.

But when used as a proper tool, Freedom of Speech and Assembly are powerful, indeed.

You rail against democracy.

What is your alternative?

A theocracy, like the Taliban would have?

A dictatorship, like Hitler or Saddam had?

Democracy is not perfect, but it offers the best chance for the common man to right wrongs, short of picking up a gun and joining a revolution.

What's wrong with wanting the world to embracy Democracy? At least that form of government encourages the equality of all people.

You used Freedom of Speech to post your vile, hateful, warped view of Democracy. Rather hypocritical of you, wouldn't you say?

You can write such drivel here in America and in other nations that embrace Democracy.

Try posting an anti-Khomeini view in Iran and see what happens.

The Delaration of Independence said that all men have the right to pursue happiness.

They are not guaranteed happiness, mind you, but are only guaranteed the right to seek it. That's a mighty powerful right, though.

Yes, America has a long history of curtailing or denying rights to others, especially minorities, but I've see tremendous advancement toward equality in my 51 years.

Democracy isn't perfect but it's the best system of government the world has seen --- provided the citizens get involved in their government and remain involved.

Democracy is only as good as the citizens who participate in it.

When was the last time youvoted?

Oh, and take a Newswriting 101 course so you learn to express an idea without all the jargon, obfuscation and self-important prattling you just demonstrated.

The goal of writing is to communicate an idea, not to impress the reader with the size of your dictionary or how verbose you can be.

thats it right there!!

this ride can be confusing and annoying and also very interesting.

but the alternative dont allow the freedom of thought words and deeds that democracy does.

a slim if any chance for change but still a chance.

better then any other system but,,we dont deserve to have it if we take it for granted!!

ITS LIKE MANY THINGS USE IT OR LOSE IT:
