Taylor Posted October 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2006 I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good ghost, paranormal, haunting books. Adding to my 5 page Christmas list, lol. Thanks for reading! Taylor
Bella-Angelique Posted October 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2006 I just brought home one by Medeiros. It looks a little like an Ann Rice. The author's last one After Midnight was on the New York Times bestseller list, so maybe this one is ok for Vampire buffs.
Oubli Posted October 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2006 If you are looking for something along the lines of "true" hauntings; Haunted: True Story of a Canadian Family Grave's End (very creepy) A Family Possessed Overshadows Echos of a Haunting (creepy) House of Spirits and Whispers Night Stalks the Mansion - this is an older one, but OMG.... very, very creepy. boorite Posted October 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) Everyone needs The Hunt for the Skinwalker. Also, The Afterlife Experiments. Also, anything by Hans Holzer is enjoyable. Edited October 11, 2006 by boorite

Princess Serenity Posted October 11, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Here's the 'ghost books' I found interesting. "Haunted Houses of California" by Antoinette May (Which has the story of The Winchester Mystery House). "Mystery of the Blue-Gowned Ghost" by Linda Wirnker (Fiction) "Real Hauntings: True American Ghost Stories" by Hans Holzer (I found this a very good read) "The Best Ghost Stories Ever" by Scholastic but edited by Christopher Krovatin (I haven't started this book yet) "Strange Takes of The Civil War" by Michael Sanders (Haven't started reading this one yet) "The Ghosts of Williamsburg-Volume II" by L. B. Taylor, Jr (Get this book, you will most likely like it) "The Ghosts of Williamsburg and nearby Envirsons" by L. B. Taylor, Jr. That's all the books, I have. You don't have to get all of them. I found some of these books far more interesting then normal books. =
Stubbly_Dooright Posted October 17, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 17, 2006 I too enjoy reading books by Hans Holzer. Though, there is a book, that I had just recently bought, read, and finished. I really enjoyed it, and it has made me reflect on it for a good long time. I like books like that. "Don't Call Them Ghosts" by Kathleen McConnel. Her family moved into an old house back in the early to mid-seventies, and right away the three children ghosts made themselves known. It's not like your usual accounts of true hauntings, considering the author talks about adobting the 'other children' as her own and taking care of them, while her husband was the only one aware of it. It almost reads like a family feel good book, and I felt that the ending was very powerful. It also made me cry, which was good therapy for me at the moment. I highly recommend it. Sweetpumper Posted January 12, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2007 In A Dark Place by Ray Garton I thought so too until I found out Ray had to make half of it up to finish the book. Starting "Hunt For the Skinwalkers" soon!
