$2,500 is what an Iraqi civilian is worth

This has got to go down in history and the biggest lie ever told. It's a well-known fact that the families of [victims of 911 got at least a million] for each family member lost, but when an Iraqi family loses one of it's loved ones, they're worth an average of $2,500. This, according to a recent [CNN report,], which appears well researched.

That means that the average Iraqi is worth four hundred times less than the average American life. This seems not only unfair, but also criminal. Since when did life become so cheap to the Christians who helped get George Bush elected President?

The sheep are counting sheep, who are counting sheep, who are counting even more sheep.

Shame!

Why does every issue have to come down on Christianity,s blame, I am a Christian but I do not support G Bush in any way. People vote from every race and religion and if they don’t they are misguided fools who do not deserve a voice of opposition.

I bet the people of Iraq long for the days of Saddam's rule now.

That is one of the most insanely ridiculous things I've ever read in my life.

To say that Iraq is worse off now than under the rule of a bloody tyrannical dictator is a ludicrous statement. Those people were dying by the hundreds of thousands every single year. They were being massacred for no reason at all, tortured in ways none of us can even begin to imagine. They were living in fear every day that today could be the last day of their lives, or their loved ones' lives, or the last day that life would exist at all in their villages or cities. The man was a despot and a murderer. I would gladly trade a psychopathic mass murderer who butchers everyone who opposes him for a few years of instability. The fact of the matter is that Iraq is much, much better off...but for whatever reason, some people like to think that the cost of a war somehow is worse than living under someone like Saddam.

I can't even put into words my shock, surprise, and general anger that such statements get made, and with such regularity.

- Who ever told you that we all should be worth evenly $ wise? Even here some are worth more than others. In a country like Iraq $2,500 could be more than what we think. Life was way cheap in Iraq before we got in, they just get buried in mass graves, that's it!

Ya your right, I'm sure the Iraqi people are far better off now, less food no homes to sleep in bombs blasting on every street corner on a daily basis. This war has killed more civilians then Saddam ever did. You don't think they are living in fear now !!! Grow up and save you self ritious attitude for someone else. I'm tired of hearing people say Iraq is lucky we came along to save them from this evil leader. Damn man America is not there for the Iraqi people, they are there for oil plane and simple. If you want to sugar coat it fine, if that makes you sleep better at night so be it. I can't even put into word how blind you are as to whats happening there and the reasons behind it. For god sake wake up!!!! The people of iraq just love being occupied ya right.

Interesting comparison, Scare_Crow, with two minor mistakes.

It has not much to do with Christianity because Bush stole the presidency.

Second, a life of a 911 victim will be even more worth once the Iraqi oil starts commin'. In fact, for every million Bush paid, he will earn a billion with the Iraqi oil. Bush acctually sold the victims for a good price.

As for the Iraqi civillians, not only that 2.500$ is not worth much over their either, but they will be robbed for their Oil too.

Deal or no Deal.

Me save my self righteous crap? You're out of your mind. The war has NOT kiled more civilians than Saddam did, that's just flat out wrong. Grow up? You're clearly the one who has some growing to do. These people ARE lucky we came along. I don't care why America is there, be it for the people or for the oil. The fact of the matter is that the Iraqi people ARE better off. You're so blinded, for whatever reason, by an apparent hatred of America that you're willing to overlook simple facts and logic. I'm not even going to bother trying to educate you, because you won't listen. But you sure as hell need to educate yourself.

Edit-Hell, I just did a quick google search...from 2005, the amount of violent deaths in Iraq decreased by 87%. The man butchered entire villages indiscriminately. He killed men, women, children, it didn't matter. He buried them in mass graves. People would vanish in the night, never to be seen again. They'd be hung upside from ceiling fans and have their finger and toenails ripped off with pliers. He was a monster. Plain and simple, he was a monster. What you're saying, more or less, is that the Jews were better off under Hitler because now they have to put up with Neo-Nazis, or that Russia was better off under Stalin because it's still cold there.

I know Saddam was a very bad guy there's no doubt about it. So if the war is to help Iraq and it's people why did it take so long to go in and take care of this mad man. Why wasn't he taken care of back in 91 ? He hadn't killed enough people yet ? I know he has killed men, women and children So has the States FACT. Did Saddam kill over a hundred thousand of his own people and no you can't count the Iran/Iraq war. If you count desert storm then probably yes. The fact is the States didn't give a rats as about Iraq or what Saddam was doing till it became convenieant to invade. The war is based on lies, and if you need to make it seem all just and right do what you have to do to make yourself believe that. You don't care why there is a war ? Say what ? Getting rid of Saddam was a bonus but by no means was he the reason for this war. I bet the majority of the Iraqi people would love to see the U.S. leave. Man what will be the total of civilian deaths once this civil war is over, also created by the U.S. Don't get me wrong I'm behind every soldier over there but I'm not behind this messed up war. Your comparing Hitler to Saddam ? Wow now if that isn't over the top I don't know what is that goes for Stalin to. I think you should grow up befor you make more childish remarks such as these. Anyway I'm sick of this war and sick of talking about Iraq. Later

If you listen to the report, they're not even keeping track of the dead. WE DON'T KNOW HOW MANY ARE DYING! The blood is on our hands and we don't even care to count the dead. They don't want the public to know. It's your tax dollars at work. Innocent blood all over our hands, and no one is counting the dead. Who ever imagined that we could make life so cheap. But wait! If you count the half a trillion we've already spent to help kill them, it's at least a million to help kill each and every Iraqi civilian.

In other words, we'll pay a million a piece to help kill them, but only $2,500 to the families left to hate us after we're gone.

It sounds to me l like we're buying hate. Guaranteed hate! Hate for generations. I bet we've already overseen the death of more Iraqis than Saddam killed during his entire life. but we don't know, BECAUSE WE'RE NOT COUNTING THE DEAD!

How amazing, the U.S. government was quick to count the dead as a result of Saddam Hussein's dictatorship, but when we do it, forget the mass graves, we just lose our homework. Tell Jesus the dog ate it Mr. Bush, because you're not fooling the rest of the class.

Why does every issue have to come down on Christianity,s blame, I am a Christian but I do not support G Bush in any way. People vote from every race and religion and if they don’t they are misguided fools who do not deserve a voice of opposition.

In the United States, the Christian right got this man elected to the highest office in the land. Never mind that he never had a successful business in his life. Never mind that he dodged his military service. Never mind that he could barely string a sentence together. All they cared about was the blood of unborn babies on their hands. Now the Christian right is supporting the killing of these innocent people in Iraq. People who did nothing to the United States of Amerika.

I'm ashamed to be a Christian living in the United States. I'd rather die in the womb than at the hands of George W. Bush.

It would be better to have never seen the light of day than live in the Hell he is creating on the earth. Mark my words, we are under the wrath of God Himself for what this man is doing in the name of his base. Some people look at Katrina and say, that was just bound to happen, but I tell you far worse is coming for those that shed innocent blood in Christ's name.

There will be plagues for this land, and soon.

there have been almost 60,000 thousand civilian deaths and over 3,000 soldier killed in iraq but somehow there are people out there who want us to look past that and think "hey, we got the oil, mission accomplished".

I think 60 thousand is a bit low. Anyway the numbers are just going to climb, The death toll will continue for many years after the war is over, millions of rounds of depleted uranium bullets litter Iraq and will kill for years.

http://nucnews.net/2000/du/du.htm

As was stated above this occupation is creating more hatred and thus creating more Iraqi's willing to blow themselves up. Iraq is going to be a hot bed for anti-americanism for generations I think and hence is now a bigger threat then it ever was befor. Even with an extra 20.000 troops being sent over to "train" Iraqi police and military, as soon as the states pulls out I believe a civil war will break out again. Many more deaths to come unfortunatly.

I'm sorry, but I cannot believe they're not counting the dead. What hypocrites! They're afraid to count the dead, so what does that tell you? How can you establish a democrazy and not even know how many people are dying to attain it? It reminds me of hurricane Katrina, where I wonder if we know today how many actually died during that storm. There's no telling. The death toll could really be much higher. [Truth has been cast to the ground.]

My thoughts exactly.

The fact that people still consider some people 'worth more' is sickening.

Its so funny that all I ever see on the news is the U.S. death toll in Iraq meanwhile the civilian death toll is skyrocketing and no one even cares. 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' ? This administration is so corrupt.

I'm trying to think of another time in history when the conquering army not only helped rebuild their opponent, but also installed an independant government, and on top of all that, gave a re-imbursement for people who lost family members.

Nope, pretty much all the wars I can think of were a bit more cruel than that. Arguing about how much money someone was going to get wasn't even on the list. You were generally grateful that you hadn't been shot with everyone else.

Yeah, I think as soon as a bomb landed in your home, and maimed or killed you whole family you would change your tune real quick. What did the Iraqies have to fear under the "butcher of baghdad"? Being snatched from their homes, inprisoned without charges and being tortured to death? Huh, how much sleep do you lose over that happening to you? Cause its all legal right here in the USA via the Millitary Commisions act. It could happen to you right now but you would rather live in a war torn waste land without the basics comforts of life? sure thing.

- Who ever told you that we all should be worth evenly $ wise? Even here some are worth more than others. In a country like Iraq $2,500 could be more than what we think. Life was way cheap in Iraq before we got in, they just get buried in mass graves, that's it!

Life cheap in America as well. As long as you don't have to see it on TV every night most people could careless about the suffering of others. How meny times did we see the planes hit the towers on 911? like a million times? How much money did people send to the victoms? millions. How much time did we hear about the bad man saddam on TV? About non-stop for 2 years. How much time on any given night do you see and hear about Iraqies being slaughterd every day? Next to zero. If its not on TV the averge Americans think it isnt happening.

Um....the same people? Humans?

Or do you consider different nations/races being worth unequally much?

Please, people who don't base their lives around shinny trinkets and celebrity gossip are worth far less then those who do. How meny Iraqies do you think even know who Paris Hilton is? Like AROCES said, life is cheap in Iraq, so lets build some Mcdonalds over there and dress them up like Americans and convince them they are the center of the world. Or if we can lower the value of the Iraqies lives some more, maybe we can justify owning them like slaves?

Try any of the wars fought to colonize the land. The Africans and Native Americans (countless others) were thrilled when they had their land "rebuilt" and a new government installed.

I think its very embarrassing when fellow Americans are willing to write-off the horror suffered by others as long as it benifits them. Not suprising, its alot of the same people who are more than happy to let our own young men and women go get killed or maimed as long as it makes their life a little better. Those folks are going to have a very rude awakening when the real consequences of the war on terror begins to blossom.

I love this "old school" way of looking at things. I love to hear how we're being extra special nice, compared to the bloodletting of the past. Imperialism is different from self-defense. Once we stepped into the light, it was plain to see all the holes in this plan. We're just trying to buy our own protection. There is no plan, only arrogance, on a scale not seen since the Third Reich.

To give you some idea of the level and depth of how a state can fool it's people into believing in the goodness of its motives, here's an example that few today know about. [Animal Rights in the Third Reich]

The greatest evil goes to the greatest lengths to justify its madness, by appearing as an angel of Light.
