The way life evolves.

Body: Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble

walking and appear to require a hip replacement.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits weeks to see a specialist then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for a month from then.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever.

The SECOND is a Senior Citizen.

Just a story i wanna share for anyone interested. Hope it's ok to do so.

I met Russ a several months back on myspace. The man is one down to earth cool genuine family orientated bloke with a wicked sense of humor who still practices and still very much into his cultural & spiritual roots, well respected from people of all walks of life in his community as his profile shows...or so it seemed by certain individuals at one particular time a few years back. Anyway out of curiosity just prior to Xmas i asked him how life was over there for him and his family in his home state of Portsmouth Ohio. Then few days later after discussing the problems the Aussie Aborigines have had over here in the past, he sent me this story of himself among others also but i just wanted to share his p/s story at this stage.

My Being Arrested For Being Indian And What I Stand For.

I was arrested in 2005 because of my heritage. I was attempting to recall a City Councilman and run for office to replace his vacant position.I was accused of forging signatures on the recall petition.When the Chief of Police was handcuffing me he replied "We already have a ****** on City Council ,why in hell would we want an Indian?"

I was threatened with 36 years in prison. however the Ohio Revised Code states that a petitioner can only be charged with a misdemeanor. So I was sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years probation for a crime I did not commit.

When arrested I was held under a $10,000.00 bond (for a misdemeanor). I was not read my miranda rights, I was refused to be allowed to contact my attorney. I was refused the right to have my attorney present during questioning. I was told if I did not plead guilty to 6 counts of forgery then my fiance' Robin would be charged with several counts of forgery. Immediately after my arrest the Chief of Police was photographed at a political rally for the Councilman I was attempting to recall from office.

The State Prosecutor who indicted me is the nephew of the City Solicitor David Kuhn who I had stopped several times over the years for digging and robbing native amerigan graves (see newspaper story below) Now the City Solicitor is running for the Solicitors position again and guess who is on his election committee ? You guessed it the Judge who sentenced me to jail.............funny how things fall into place ennit? (Please take the time to read the news story below and let me know your thoughts)

I joined a native American Medicine Wheel. Most of the people in the group including me aren't Native American. The leader of the group is very knowledgeable about the subject and is teaching us. I joined for the healing and to learn. I am still a neo Celtic Druid which is my ancestral path and what I generally follow. It is not a problem in my religion to join with a group not of your path because, it is part of the path to learn different ways. I know some Native Americans have problems with white folks practicing their religion What do you think? If this has ready been answered in this thread point me to the post.

As part Native American I have no complaint with what path you walk....as long as it is your path and you are true to yourself.

On that question Darkwind, i'm not really qualified to say, I'm just an Aussie born Italian with an interest in NA Culture & Spirituality (hence why i kick started the thread). I recall another member posting way back that stated some don't allow outsiders but most do. <-- Don't quote me on it tho, ask the 'Elder/s' in your group maybe?

BTW, I don't think any of the Nth American Indian nations had/have a ''religion'' as such but Cultural ''Spirituality''.

My God mother's Pumonki(?) Indian. Her dad lives on a reservation in Virginia. They are the Custalow's. The father and his grandfather have been in hundreds of magazines and newspaper adds. I really appreciate the culture. Take care man!
