Bubonic Plague

Just had a fair chat about the bubonic plague.... Just wandered onto the subject rather than setting out to be so dark.

All I had was my knowledge that I was taught at school. Rats, fleas and spreading etc...., and then later in time the fire of London finishing it.

A programme recently showed a few reasons why the plague could not have been caused by rats, and also questioned the actual strain of bacteria that caused the various episodes.

I have had a few reads on google found sites, but I would like to know your thoughts and opinions and especially any reliable papers on the net that I can read up on.

I might have seen the same programme a while ago, and it sounded convincing to me... Still, I think if there wasn't something problematic with these claims, it would have been more widely publicized.
