carlinspace Posted June 1, 2007 #101 Share Posted June 1, 2007 ok so I have to ask this how do a couple of Aboriginals know it was a phonecian boat ? this puts the arrival somewhere around 1500bce a time when there was no way on earth of local indigenous cultures being able to communicate with anyone from halfway across the world i.e. it was unlikely that anyone in Australia could speak ancient egyptian or phonecian at that time so claiming 3500 years later that anyone walking around today can name the country of origin is a bit suspicious you sure they werent just having you on when you turned away did you hear sniggering ? They may have been full of it but ive also talked to an aboriginal elder from the area that said more or less the same thing - that egyptians came on a boat and they couldnt fix it so they got stranded here (in Oz), he might have been full of it too! dunno. However over a certain length of time they would be able to start communicating and teaching each other their languages (Bear in mind these people were here for the rest of their lives - they couldnt fix the boat and they were stranded here). I doubt very much they would have said "We are from Egypt and this is a Phonecian boat". I think more along the lines of modern day aboriginals that know about it from word of mouth handed down from their ancestors would have probably studied what all this means and come to the conclusion that Egyptians werent great seafarers and they purchased boats from Phonecia?. Also I dont know the full information about what they know only the tip of the iceburg.

Well, NSW and the whole os Australia is Gum trees. Do you think they would have made a boat out of gum trees? haha thats funny. Being so well learned in Phonecian history you should know the Phonecians used cedar and oak in their boats not Gum Trees. They also used copper/tin alloy in there boats so I suppose they would have used aboriginal copper and tin mine and forge to make these components. I dont think even ancient people would be dumb enough to make a raft for a long sea voyage. Also, Egyptians buying a boat from Phonecia doesnt mean it comes with Phonecians included. If you buy a Honda it doesnt come full of Japanese people. And then you think that if the aboriginals leaerned Egyptian that they'd ditch there first language and all start speaking Egyptian. That's ridiculous, but... so is your argument. I suppose you have studied the whole 200 aboriginal dialects as well. Ancient Egyptian were crap sailors. What would they make there boats out of??? Papyrus or maybe palm trees. And then you go onto claim that Egypt has all its maritime records - what from first dynasty til now. I suppose you've studied all of these as well. Even better you probably discovered them yourself. Well all I can say is maybe you should go study some more - maybe enrol in a course that teaches common sense. The Puzzler Posted June 2, 2007 Author #105 Share Posted June 2, 2007 Good explanation carlinspace lol. I think these are good points and I really don't know how anyone can be so sure of whether they were here or not. Some things look to be absolute fact on the side they didn't arrive on Australian shores but many things also make sense to the side who thinks Egyptians did arrive here. I've seen lots of sites about it all since I started this thread and researched in some books and I can't see why they wouldn't be here actually. Just because there's no record of it in Egypt. Apparently Punt is as far as they sailed. How do they know for sure? I think this could be because it was not a known fact there that some Egyptians had left and voyaged to Australia via land and sea as I've already explained before here. Why would it be recorded in some Egytian heiroglyphs there if the journeymen never made it back, maybe they just didn't even know they left for Australia! Just because some record somewhere record it anywhere does not mean it didn't happen I say. It could have been just a few men. If the heiroglyphics are fake, well I still can't see why they wouldn't have crossed to Australia. I think it could have been done and I also think that many races reached the lands before recorded ones. I just think we know enough about history yet and there is plenty that could have happened, look at all the anomolies found on different things, odd things found in odd places, I am aware some of these are hoaxs but I think alot of them are real. Aboriginal history is so ancient, remnants from nearly 50,000 years ago are found in Arnhem Land, dingoes came over much later than that, about 6,000 years ago, no one really knows who they arrived with. In a book I have here: Archaeology of the Dreamtime (Jospehine Flood) it's very detailed about the whole aboriginal migration and also mentions in the Arrival of the Dingo section that Dingoes arrived in line with the discovery of small stone tools that had an outstanding feature of symmetry and delicate trimming of tiny slender blades made from fine grained stone. and also mentions in this book this: "It has been suggested that the distribution of Aboriginal languages in Australia can be best explained by an influx of new people 4000 to 10,000 years ago", There is no real answer to who these poeple are, it has been suggested it was people from Southern Asia with domesticated dingoes but it itself is just a theory. It says also that trading was going on between the Bay of Bengal and Australia possibly by way of Andamans and Java. So if contact was being made 4000 -10,000years ago how can anyone be sure Egyptian people did not come here???
Lucid Mark Posted June 3, 2007 #106 Share Posted June 3, 2007 What if at one time the whole world was inhabited by Egyptians. Or perhaps the Egyptians were the ancient people of Atlantis from the legends.

apollyon Posted June 3, 2007 #108 Share Posted June 3, 2007 What if at one time the whole world was inhabited by Egyptians. Or perhaps the Egyptians were the ancient people of Atlantis from the legends. if that were the case Egyptian DNA and artifacts would be everywhere and they arent in addition if Atlantis was a real place there would be anaomalous dna turning up on coastlines around the destroyed island area and artifacts all over the place as well and there arent

youre talking about do you I am still waiting for the name of this elder that told you about this when I have it I will happily write to National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Commission and ask them to forward a letter from me to him asking if he even knows who you are ? maybe in future instead of suggesting that I enrol on a course that teaches common sense you could enrol on a course that teaches the facts or perhaps even one that teaches honesty Like I said take a course in common sense. Half those trees arent in NSW. The other half arent even native. Native trees called cedar or oak were named by the English settlers because of their likeness to cedar and oak - not because they are cedar or oak. Do you know for a fact that all the ancient egyptian documents been recovered. Well I'll tell you - NO YOU DONT! Because they haven't - millions were burned by Julius Caesar in 50BC so really let me ask you, Do you really know what you're talking about?? I thought you said you studied Ancient Egypt. Maybe you should take an honesty course. As far as telling you my name or any one elses thats just funny I wouldnt give you the time of day. And writing a letter to the Aboriginal & Torres Straight Islander Commission and getting them to forward a letter - thats ridiculous!! and funny hahahah. The Puzzler Posted June 4, 2007 Author #112 Share Posted June 4, 2007 http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/summary/296/5574/1791 http://www.subversiveelement.com/History_A...roglyphics.html .....these people from far away lands came here to gather Gold. Some of the races that visited were most commonly the Aztecs and Egyptians. In Brett Green's books, the Aboriginals would speak of ships with "heart beats", this would of course refer to banging of the drums as each stroke of the paddles struck the water. They told of "sails", in their own words and also of the armor worn by some of the strangers who arrived from these ships. Here we go Apollyon, you don't need to speak to an Aboriginal elder about the ships with heart beats referring to banging of drums, you can always let the author Brett Green know he is wrong! Anyway Carlinspace told you his name.... Pulabong

Isis2200 Posted June 4, 2007 #114 Share Posted June 4, 2007 I was doing some research on a rumour I had heard and came up with this web site. Has anyone ever heard of Egyptians in Australia before? What do you think of the evidence and apparent facts contained in this article? I myself was pretty amazed at it all. Even if the heiroglyphics seem fake I find it interesting that Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders have similar traditions to Egyptians and mummification processes as well as the Aten symbol. (Don't dismiss it because of the mention of the Gympie Pyramid idol) http://www.crystalinks.com/egyptaustralia.html Thank you for that very interesting information. I don't doubt at all that Egyptians were in Australia. I even heard someone discussing that the original Irish were from Egypt. I don't have all the facts about Ireland but I'm sure if you did research you would find something about it. I am currently reading Michael Cremo's book "Forbidden Archaeology", and there is no doubt in my mind that facts about ancient astronauts visiting the Earth, as well as facts about our origin on this planet, have been deliberately withheld from us. I even heard where several ancient artifacts had been dumped in the ocean. This type of withholding of information, as well as disinformation make me further belief the information you present. Thank you for the link. ~ Irate Isis2200

Isis2200 Posted June 4, 2007 #116 Share Posted June 4, 2007 What if at one time the whole world was inhabited by Egyptians. Or perhaps the Egyptians were the ancient people of Atlantis from the legends. Hi Lucid Mark: This is also one interesting theory proposed by mythologist William Henry. I've read his book Starwalkers: Dimension of the Blessed, and from what he wrote, your idea is a likely possibility.

Might as well ask Pat Robertson about early human civilization. Michael Cremo dropped out of college to go full-time as a hippie. Tried to wander around India like the Beatles but basically chickened out. Started his "career" at some airport as a Hare Krishna newbie. Worked his way up and now has a couple of books published by some Hindu religious foundation. Oh yeah, that and a column in one of the most error-filled magazines in history - "Atlantis Rising." Where is Cremo wrong? Pretty much everywhere. Here's a link that might interest you: http://home.austarnet.com.au/stear/cghinducreationism.htm You would also be well served by reading the info at the following links in regards to a pseudoscientific television "documentary" called "The Mysterious Origins of Man" that was based in part on Cremo's claptrap: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/mom/mom-review.html http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/mom/atlantis.html Both links, along with hundreds more on similar subjects, can be found at The Antiquity of Man's Exposure of Pseudoscience Webpage. A great many posters here at Unexplained Mysteries could benefit greatly by perusing the links at that page and subsequently trying to fit the factual data available there into their own somewhat flighty worldviews. Harte Yes I agree - nobody will ever know if all Egyptian records will be recovered therefore they only know pieces of history so some of the claims people have made in this blog are just theory - not fact as they make them out to be. Yes I will enlighten you - Julius Caesar sent fire ships into ALexandria burning down the library while he was chasing Pompey in 47BC. Thats no great mystery. Maybe you should do a "WHAT AM I ON ABOUT" course and then drop in to McDonalds and get a HAPPY meal. Carlin Starlin.
Harte Posted June 5, 2007 #119 Share Posted June 5, 2007 Yes I will enlighten you - Julius Caesar sent fire ships into ALexandria burning down the library while he was chasing Pompey in 47BC. Thats no great mystery. Maybe you should do a "WHAT AM I ON ABOUT" course and then drop in to McDonalds and get a HAPPY meal. Carlin Starlin. Carlin, Maybe you should read more of Plutarch before you decide to take his word for it: Plutarch's Lives, written at the end of the first or beginning of the second century, describes a battle in which Caesar was forced to burn his own ships, which in turn set fire to the docks and then the Library, destroying it.[9] This would have occurred in 48 BC, during the fighting between Caesar and Ptolemy XIII; however, there is no corroborating evidence that the Library was in fact destroyed at this time. Only 25 years later Strabo saw the Library and worked in it. Thus, any damage sustained by this battle was probably slight. Source Plutarch is the not the earliest source on this, but he is the one that most blames Caesar. Earlier sources, still written almost a hundred years after the fact, only say that Caesar burned the ships in the harbor. If you don't care for Wiki (and I wouldn't blame you,) here's a short article on the subject from eHistory: http://ehistory.osu.edu/osu/archive/articleview.cfm?aid=9 I realize that for every paper that says we don't really know what happened, there is one that claims Caesar did it. But, the truth of the matter is that scholars even today question whether or not the Library was destroyed at all during this time period. Also, believe it or not, there's little reason to believe that there was really all that much ancient Egyptian material in the Library at Alexandria anyway. It was a Greek library, established by Greeks, in around 300 BC. The Egyptians had been conquered by Alexander around thirty years before, but Egypt was Persian before that (starting in around 525 BC.) Blaming this destruction of the library on Caesar is the easy way out, it represents the "sound bite" mentality of today. There's simply no evidence that it's true. That being said, let me repeat your post, to which I was responding: Do you know for a fact that all the ancient egyptian documents been recovered. Well I'll tell you - NO YOU DONT! Because they haven't - millions were burned by Julius Caesar in 50BC so really let me ask you, Do you really know what you're talking about?? I thought you said you studied Ancient Egypt. Did he (or his scribe?) not write something along the lines of sending the fire ships into the harbour to break away from the Egyptian fleet that was about to attack them also claiming that he accidentally set the great city on fire. I dont rely on Plutarch, - He's to biased and also alot of his accounts weren't first hand as he claimed because some of the information he has - he would have had to been in two places at once. I have to admit Harte, you are passionate about your points not like some people that just try to rip into anything written for the sake of it. Also I may have exaggerated on the amount of documents that were destroyed in the Alexandrian fire (by half a million or more heheh) but the main point I was trying to make is that we cant come to any solid conclusions about Ancient Egyptian voyages because alot of her documents were hidden or destroyed due to invasion or change of heirachy. True or not? Carlin Starlin

True or not? Carlin Starlin no not true the place we know about the egyptian voyage to punt is on the wall of Hatsheputs tomb see they were so impressed with themselves that they managed to get down river a little that they talked about it as a legend for centuries then you have another problem people don't accidentally drift to australia no current would take someone from Egypt to that destination and people don't send ships out on explorations unless they think it will benefit them somehow and the Egyptians hadnt even explored the mediteranean the evidence for the egyptians in Australia is very clearly hoaxed the hieroglyphs on the wall are clearly not written by anyone who understands that language as they are nonsense and say nothing youre asking people to stretch credibility way past the point of chance and you have no evidence for them to do so
The Puzzler Posted June 6, 2007 Author #123 Share Posted June 6, 2007 OK, Harte and I have already been over (and over) how the Egyptians did or didn't get to Australia, I think they did, he says not, I think they did not sail here completely but came overland through Asia, sailed the last little bit with help from natives and once here did not get back to report on it hence no evidence is found back in Egypt. Harte has his own opinion but that is how I see they got here and why there is no evidence in Egypt. It's not like a whole civilisation arrived either in my eyes, maybe just a contingent of people either escaping Egypt or venturing out of their known realm. Even if the heiroglyphics I first mentioned are a hoax I still think it is possible for Egyptians to have made it here, why not? Aboriginals came here 45,000 years ago from somewhere, are you saying no one else could have???

Is this a solid conclusion - not very solid is it considering the whereabouts of Punt is unknown or yet to be discovered. Sending ships out to explore for gold is a good enough reason. The Mediteranean was controlled by the greeks and the Phonecians thats why they didnt explore there. So they'd have to go down the East Coat of Africa, through the Red sea and looky here. There happens to be a sea current in the Indian ocean between Sth Africa and Australia that goes counter clockwise - now thats handy. As for evidence of an Egyptian/Australian link - what about the boomerangs found in King Tut's tomb! Or the Australian marsupial fossils found at Fayum near Siwa Oasis. Also this from an anthropologist; In 1931 in the N.W. Kimberley's, Prof. A. P. Elkin, Professor of Anthropology at Sydney University came upon a tribe of Aborigines who had not met a white man before. The professor was astounded when tribal elders greeted him with Ancient Secret masonic hand signs. He was struck by the startling sematic features present in the natives. He discovered the Aborigines worshipped the sun. They also had an earth mother and Rainbow Serpent Cult. Later he discovered many of the words spoken were of Egyptian origin. This is the area of the famous Wandjina Cave Art. According to legend the Wanjina came from across the Indian Ocean in great vessels Heres the link http://www.crystalinks.com/egyptaustralia.html - its a bit over half way down. Theres evidence if you want to open your eyes. Also the heiroglyphics in NSW have been deciphered and do say something. They are from first or second dynasty the "old kingdom". Is this chance?????? apollyon Posted June 6, 2007 #125 Share Posted June 6, 2007 crystal links is not a good source what Elkins actually said was that the Aborigines of the Torres straight worshipped an Earth Mother and he claimed this was identical of egyptians of a certain period in fact the AE never worshipped a great earth mother but as that was back in the 30s when egyptology was a young science he can be forgiven for getting it wrong you however can't he wrote about this in a ten volume work which he never published which just shows you how unsure he was about it himself
