kmt_sesh Posted October 5, 2016 #505 Share Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) So that was you who contacted the real Dr. Johnson. We all owe you a debt, Spartan. I've met the guy and hadn't even thought to do it. I remember that spirited debate here, with von Senff. I'm told he's an elderly man and I'm not sure if he's still with us, but he followed me to another message board and then to my own blog, where I wrote a four-part article on Gosford. I think von Senff is the most ardent supporter of them all. Still, that article I wrote on my blog continues to generate more comments than probably all of my other articles combined. There are still a lot of woo-woo fringe acolytes for Gosford. Edited October 5, 2016 by kmt_sesh

The Australian Ray Johnson has no Egyptological training, is not an Egyptologist, and has no academic credibility or standing. He's a pretender. I'm not certain if he's even still alive. Ray Johnson of the Chicago House, the Luxor headquarters of the Oriental Institute (University of Chicago), is very much indeed a trained and respected Egyptologist and a leading expert in epigraphy. I've met him. He has no connection with the Australian pretender other than sharing the same name, and has himself gone on record as stating the Gosford glyphs are a hoax. There is nothing remotely relevant or authentic about the hoax at Gosford, and no one with the proper training and experience believes otherwise. This is exact;y what I wanted Crystal to clarify, but I wanted to get clear first. W. Ray, I imagined, would be horrified to be cited as the other Ray, if I was right . Crystal claimed Ray ( not W. Ray ) had documentation as a translator from a US museum. I have heard that before, and indeed Ray (in Queensland Australia ) personally made that claim to me . others said it was true as they saw the documentation, so I asked to see it . Ray was happy to show it and whipped it out confidently . Indeed it is an official letter from some museum in USA that deals with Egyptology and translations ( ahem ! ) ... cant remember where, the point was the context of the letter was a very polite ; we are in receipt of the documents you sent us and blah blah . No real acknowledgement of anything . Visual sub text ! again ! Sub-text of actions ! I have seen this trick before ; many people believed a police report saying x did y to z and tried to convince me about it, They saw the proof, there is a police report ! . x handed over the official looking report to me to prove it; itwas an acknowledgment of receiving an allegation x made to police claiming z did y . Even some people reading may not get that . I hope I have cleared some things up, especially for Mr W. Ray's sake . But what isnt cleared up is Crystal's response to my question. Did she just google the name to try and find a qualification she were sprouting about that existed, via gossip mind you , and identified W. Ray as fake poser Ray ? Did she just quote someone else, if so ... someone, I feel, tried to prove something BS just by googling the name . Tut - tut , any Egyptologust would say . ( Yes, Ray in Oz had passed, and yes, I knew him , he did magic tricks for me in his lounge room : ) , he also had a little following of 'Ra-Harakte' followers, some who were indigenous people. Why ? Because Ray was the reincarnation of the God Ra ... and a few Egyptian KIngs . . . Its true ! Was not really believing what I heard about it. It was just as was described! A bit disjointed, the parade I saw got lost and half of it wandered out of town, whilst the other half wandered down past the pub near the Caravan park. That was actually pretty funny to watch. Also - someone who could not have been 16 wandering the side of the parade with a hessian sack filled with .... vital greens? Handing it out to street watchers! I walked past the cop shop, all down the back with a BBQ roaring, and a waist high stack of cartons of beer! Quite an experience I must say, but as I say, that would have been mid-late 90's I heard half the town has burned down since but do not know if it was rebuilt. Is it still the same place or has it modernised?

One needs to think logically of ancient times.. travel.. the entourages of these missions.. to question.. would the ancients have taken proper scribe crafts men with them on their journeys to the far lands? I gather the formal ancient hieroglyphs on ancient works in Egypt would have been exacted.. by skilled crafts people .. skilled scribes. Those scholars or assistants that would have accompanied the adventurous rich sons of Egyptian noble men or Pharaohs on explorations or trade with other lands would they have had the time to do a proper piece of art in leaving evidence or commemorating their adventure and loss of some high born son? The ancient times amongst warring aboriginals.. ( there is a history of over 700 tribes all having different dialects.. languages throughout Australia and most didn't get on ) Would any of the ancient travelers have felt safe enough to take time for a proper commemoration. Would the ancient have all been skilled scribes? Or would they have drawn straws as to who will lay the soul of the highborn to rest via taking the time to carve out their story of their time in that land ? Of course the hieroglyphs wouldn't have been perfect. There may even have been their version of slang terms, and shoddy workmanship. There would have been random hieroglyphic graffiti left around the various sites by partially skilled literate Egyptian adventurers who would have travelled far and wide for rare jewels .. rare plants.. rare animals to win favour back home or for trade purposes. Of course the ancient Egyptians would have known about ancient Australia. If the ancient Indians knew of Australia ( who were also part of the trade routes.. the silk road merchandizing of ancient times.. ) http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-01-15/research-shows-ancient-indian-migration-to-australia/4466382 I even think that Australia could have been the mysterious Ophir mentioned in the bible . They speak of a mysterious land of treasures on the far side that balances the world. Quote Kings 9:26-28 26King Solomon also built ships at Ezion Geber, which is near Elath in Edom, on the shore of the Red Sea. 27And Hiram sent his men-sailors who knew the sea-to serve in the fleet with Solomon's men. 28They sailed to Ophir and brought back 420 talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon. crystal sage Posted May 13, 2018 #522 Share Posted May 13, 2018 http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/writing/explore/scribe.html Not everyone learned to read and write in ancient Egypt. Only one group of people called scribes was allowed to have this knowledge. Who were the scribes? Scribes were people in ancient Egypt (usually men) who learned to read and write. Although experts believe that most scribes were men, there is evidence of some female doctors. These women would have been trained as scribes so that they could read medical texts. How long did it take to become a scribe? It could take four to five years for a person to go through scribe school. So it may have been highly unlikely that scribes accompanied all the exploratory or trading missions. Or if there was a scribe or two included in the entourage, that they would have all survived these excursions/missions in ancient times across harsh conditions that would have taken many months or even years to accomplish. http://www.ancientegyptonline.co.uk/scribe.html Quote The hieroglyphic language of the ancient Egyptians was complex and beautiful and those who had mastered it held a valued position in society. Scribes were the protectors and developers of ancient Egyptian culture and central to academic research and the smooth running of the state apparatus. The scribes not only copied existing texts preserving them for future generations, they also edited existing works and wrote new texts. They were considered to be members of the royal court and as such did not have to pay tax, undertake military service or perform manual labour. Many positions of influence within the administrative hierarchy of ancient Egypt required scribal training, So logically .. what was the chance of the ancient Egyptians aboard a merchant ship having a qualified scribe with them . They may have had ones who had a little knowledge of the craft , hence the makeshift hieroglyphic markings commemorating important events or records of their missions on ancient sites in far flung lands. that includes the Grand Canyon hieroglyphs. Crystal, it's not just that the glyphs were written so poorly, it's that they're completely random and don't say anything in ancient Egyptian. It's the same effect as randomly writing English letters on a chalkboard—jwuxbsfdj7hrbfm9ksfj. It produces nothing but meaningless gibberish.
