this is chads story he told me after emailing........(he gave permission to post it)

Hello Well there is this man that has a grave at that place named jeff mcknight, one night when i was with a couple of my friends we were just looking around and looking for "ghosts" because we didnt really believe this place was haunted.Anyways I would always get this strange vibe from this jeff mcknight. so we were just around his grave looking around talking it was strange because when i lifted up my flash light to talk what i thought was my friend james there was this man standing there but i flashed over there agian it was gone.I know that sounds very unlikely that i saw a ghost there but i still believe it was this Jeff mcknight. Then that night or a couple of nights later Me and my friend abe were looking at his footage from the place back in February 2006.It was my friends abe and james just searching the area of the cemetary and my friend james calls abe and he like turns the camera without pointing anywhere and if you stop the camera it is directly on Jeff mcknight. creepy right?

after looking it up i found this on Jeff.........

Jeff D. McKnight, PPC1346 Base Unit AAP. The World War II veteran was born in 1908 and died May 11, 1958.

Hello Everyone,

My name is NME_Locus. I am the original poster of this thread. It's been so long since I have been on UM. I just wanted to check up on how everything is. I see that a lot of you guys have gone there. That's good to go do your own research, but since this place has gotten a little more attention, I would just like for you guys to remember to respect the site and don't litter. ( No pun intended..I know you guys already know ). Happy Hunting and talk to ya'll soon.

I wanted to comment on this haunted site. In Houston there is a sizable satanic population. The majority are deluded goths who tamper with forces they don't understand and would have a hard time controlling. Many of the worst haunted sites in Houston are due to failed (or successful) rituals. This area is reported to be the cause of the combined moving of graves and the tampering of satanists and punk kids. It seems that "ghost hunting" has become a popular hobby. I would recommend that anyone who is looking to visit sites like this one prepare themselves with at least some basic knowledge of banishing and protection. The last thing you want is to go out to do some drinking and fooling around with a video camera and be followed home by some obsession, poltergeist, or demonic entity. I have never been to this site but I am planning on going when I actually have time. I am the most interested in the places where it is said the veil of reality is the most pulled back. I have even heard of ominous red portals forming in the woods around this spot.

Wow... neat. May we have the link on where are getting your information please. Sometimes, presenting this in advance causes people believe in something that they have not even researched on.

An example would be telling ssomeone that a house is haunted and having them stay the night there. Then of course they are going to start hearing things.

Yo!

I'm a Spring local and I'm vaguely familiar of where this site is. I lived in Humble before, but I've never heard of this haunted overpass. I came across this forum a little whlie ago and ever since I've been curious to set up a little 'investigation' to see if some friends and I can experience a ghostly encounter. Really, we just want to take a look around - I'm quite skeptical about anything paranormal so I'm not expecting much is going to happen when we get there. But I figure what better way to celebrate Labor Day weekend than to visit a local haunted hotspot? Anyways, we're planning to take the trip tomorrow night, Sunday, August 31, 2008. I'm bringing a camera and digital camcorder to record the things we see. I haven't done any ghost hunting in the past so I don't know what to look for - for the most part, I'll just be shooting random pics here and there. We'll try and pick around the areas where people have said they've seen things, like the theatre, railroad tracks, and church. Apparently, they've revamped a nearby building previously deemed haunted to a bar, named 'Hoots', so we'll go in and ask if they've had any paranormal happenings. In general, I think I'll be asking the locals if they've seen anything. I'll make sure to take a ton of pics and video to post here when I'm done.

If anyone here would be interested in coming along, or if you have any suggestions, feel free to PM me or email me at: tell_frijoles_whatzup@msn.com.

Thanks!

HI im new here to this site and i was looking around on this topic, pretty neat that it has so much attention. What i wanted to say is that i went to a school that had alot of those goth people that liked doing all that stuff, well they performed a ritual in the school in the middle of the night....or so they say......well the school hasnt been the same since every student found out. Things started happening like in school dances there was a man spotted in the corner of the school gym or auditorium, and no one knew who that person was. Someone tried to talk to this man but the guy just walked into a thin hallway with no doors just to disappear. I personally saw something in the restroom when i was doing my business, i never went to that restroom again. well anywho the point is cuz of the freaky people the school wasnt never right after them, too much weird stuff in there.

OK, interesting. I live about 25 miles from this spot, and I am familiar with the location. I have been over the overpass, and in the strip center numerous times, though I didn't know it was the location of a possible haunting. So, I think I'll go check it out in the near future. Should be interesting to see it.

Modern day goth people are not goth at all. More like mall rats you can blam Hot Topic for killing the scene off.

this website http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/texas.htm sounds more like legends to me than actual investigation facts. It would be interesting to do a emf sweep of the area and see if it is off the charts to cause the town to become deserted, it is said that exposure to high emf can cause paranoia, skin rashes, the sense of being watched etc..

It is really not a town.....it's an abandoned shopping center with tracks behind it, and a strip of woods beyond that. I haven't been like I had planned because a hurricane came and it has messed things up for a while. Maybe I'll go next week.

Sorry about the late entry, Just discovered this place and decided to reply.

Humble Golf and Games, I worked there for 2 years. I really didn't pay attention about strange things till a customer said he has seen Shadow People there. Then I started to pay attention.

All I know is that the inside mini. golf course had water hazards and there was a pump that activated the little fountains in the middle of each water hazard. It had the Main power switch and the actual pump switch to turn on the fountains. It came on by itself for a few seconds. I went back to the switches and both were off.

I cleaned the popcorn maker and when it was near the end of the school day, I was to make popcorn for when the kids came in and smelled the popcorn, they would buy and eat the salty popcorn and get thirsty and also buy sodas. About the time for school to let out, I went to make popcorn and there was a small neat pile of popcorn in the middle of the maker.

one night after closing, I locked the door and me and a friend started playing Track and Field. the building started shaking for a few seconds. There is no fault line in the Humble area that I know of and live a few blocks away and my childhood home never shook. We went outside to see if there was a train nearby causing the tremors and there was not one in sight.

One night it was slow and the place was empty, The manager left to go buy beer for later and I was alone, I heard a voice say two times, sounded to me kinda like "Tommy" but more like Tallme , that scared the hell out of me, I went outside until the manager came back.

It did become a church, and a woman who worked there opened it one morning and found all the cabinets open and things out of place. she called the police and they found no evidence of a break in. every window and door was secure and not tampered with. My mother learned of this from the police scanner. Now it is a storage for rent place.

Many years ago when I was young, me and my sister and friends would walk to the 'black' graveyard. at the time, there was a dirt road from 7th street that went to it. the trees lined both sides, so the path was dark, even in bright sun light. Didn't see or hear anything strange. but I was young and unaware.

wich one of you um's live on the southwest side of houston?near beechnut and Hillcroft? i have two rca digital recorders and an 7mp dig camera. once i start working again im saving up to get a car and some IR minidv's. my last car got totaled, stupid drunk driver killed my parked car. well if anyone is interseted when NME goes up there again ill fill up anyones tank.if anyone is planning on useing an ouija board during the investigation, i will not be attending. no need to use something like that if they are already there and sense there may be hostile spirits in the area there is no need to stir things up with the board. if they are there we will know. and we will have recorders if they decide to communicate on there own. i dont go to them i wait for them to come to me.

That area is not haunted. I have been out there several times on several occasions and times of day, and have found nothing worth while. As for the area behind the old dollar theater, there is a neighborhood and a school there. The neighborhood is creepy because it is old, but there have been no reports from the charter school there about children seeing things or anyone being harmed. The only thing that may have disturbed the area is when those three Kingwood boys took the skull of the buried child to make a skull bong. But other than that, there is nothing in that area of interest.

I'm sorry you didn't find anything in your few visits, but the fact that you didn't witness anything in those few visits doesn't negate what I witnessed in my 2 years at that location. I didn't hallucinate what I experienced and my mother didn't imagined what the Officers said on the Police Radio.

Once again, sorry. I guess we agree to disagree.
