Lord Umbarger Posted June 26, 2007 #27 Share Posted June 26, 2007 It all seems like a bit of a crass over-reaction.And at the same time, curiously dull. That sounds like it came out of my mouth! I wounder how Tom took the news? Boo hoo hooHe's probably jumping up and down on somebodies couch. Anybody have the footage?
Moondoggy Posted June 27, 2007 #28 Share Posted June 27, 2007 I knew there was something I liked about the Germans. There is plenty to like about the Germans, like beer, sausage, beer, german chocolate cake, beer, sauerbraten, beer, octoberfest, and last but not least-beer
Stalker Posted June 27, 2007 #29 Share Posted June 27, 2007 You know, this is the perfect test of Scientology's authenticity. Tommy was recently made their "Christ-figure", right? So, I say we give it a few days: if Germany is destroyed by fire and brimstone within that period, we'll know it's real.
ships-cat Posted June 27, 2007 #30 Share Posted June 27, 2007 (edited) "ENEMY SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed." - L. Ron Hubbard [sP = Suppressive Person a.k.a. critic of Scientology] "A truly Suppressive Person or group has no rights of any kind and actions taken against them are not punishable." - L. Ron Hubbard "In any event, any person from 2.0 down on the Tone Scale should not have, in any thinking society, any civil rights of any kind, because by abusing those rights he brings into being arduous and strenuous laws which are oppressive to those who need no such restraints." - L. Ron Hubbard [The "Tone Scale" is Scientology's measure of mental and spiritual health.] "There are only two answers for the handling of people from 2.0 down on the Tone Scale, neither one of which has anything to do with reasoning with them or listening to their justification of their acts. The first is to raise them on the Tone Scale by un-enturbulating some of their theta by any one of the three valid processes. The other is to dispose of them quietly and without sorrow." - L. Ron Hubbard "The sudden and abrupt deletion of all individuals occupying the lower bands of the Tone Scale from the social order would result in an almost instant rise in the cultural tone and would interrupt the dwindling spiral into which any society may have entered." - L. Ron Hubbard EGADS Glorybebe - that's a scary quote. Talk about Koran meets Mein Kampf meets Eugenics. I'm off to check my Tone Scale "Theta Unenturbulating" is now officialy 'Cat's Phrase of the Month (July), and I shall be endeavouring to use it as often as possible. Meow Purr. When I read those, it gave me chills. I already had read a bit about Scientology, then when I read those....well, I question the intelligence of anyone who joins this religion. There have been many cases of them trying to heal people their way, and not allowing the family to see them. The next thing they know, the person who is to be healed was dead. There was also a man from here in BC who had joined Scientology and then quit. They tried to sue him to keep quiet about their secrets and he said he was threatened to be killed if he said anything. He did the smart thing and told the media about it, because if he did die, then his death would be investigated and guess who the finger would be pointed at? m. Moe Posted June 28, 2007 #36 Share Posted June 28, 2007 I find the responses to this article very odd. I was thinking "wow, Germany found another stick to shove up their asses. How surprising." Don't get me wrong, I think Tom Cruise is a total nut-job of late mostly because of his association with that religion L. Ron Hubbard created after he lost a bet to his drinking buddy and wrote Dianetics...... But is it really that important? It would be a little different if the film itself was about an ailen worshiping cult but its not. German asses are probably still a little sore over WWII and using the fake religion as a cop-out but maybe that's just me.... Agreed. They are just trying to prevent another WWII movie from bringing up their dark past.

The Three Ventriloquists Posted June 28, 2007 #38 Share Posted June 28, 2007 And other religions don't? Churchs, mosques and temples around the globe are worth billions and billions. A cult is just a religion with fewer people. Religions are cults that grew in numbers because their convincing people and brainwashing was better then the next guy's idea. Scientology is no more of a massive scam and falsehood then any other religion out there that have tricked/brainwashed people to follow them. I find it more like this Christianity is like an incredibly drunk person driving where they'r probably going to hit someone. While scientology is more like a sober person running down hitchhikers. The difference is that most of the time the money pull is a byproduct of christianity while the money pull is the soll purpose of scientology. Baku Posted June 28, 2007 #40 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Well Im kinda unsure why Germany protests against Tom Cruise, is it really because of his religion (Scientology) or because the movie is about Nazi Germany? I have been to Germany twice and Germans always get either upset or angry when you start talking about Nazi Germany, its a very sensitive subject for them; so I think its very well possible that the German goverment refusing to aid this movie because of the subject and just uses Scientology as a cover up. There was actually a movie made about his man's life by the German's around two years ago. So, if they can make their own movie about the attempt on Hitler, why not others? Also, it is the expectation of the film producers to get into secure areas that NO UNAUTHORIZED personnel are allowed. Why should Hollywood and especially Tom Cruise expect them to hand over their Armed forces bases? Would the US just let the British or anyone else just walk in and start shooting on their bases? That is the arrogance of Tom Cruise.
Pinky Floyd Posted June 28, 2007 #42 Share Posted June 28, 2007 (edited) I find it more like this Christianity is like an incredibly drunk person driving where they'r probably going to hit someone. I'm a Deist so hold the predetermined flame... The fact is that while Christianity has had and still does has it's share of problems..some Christians and churches manage to give billions yearly to the poor in the US.. Not all of them are the finger pointing, 'holier-than-thou' scum many athiests portray them to be..many of them are fixing your car, cleaning your teeth, taking your order of fried fat with a side order of lard and reading your x-rays...and not preaching a moment nor a word to you.. I said it before and I'll say it again: Overall, Christianity get a bad rap by many because of a few vocal jackasses who cannot keep their mouths shut and start jibbering about what God 'wants'.. Just a thought... Edited June 28, 2007 by Pinky Floyd
Mars Posted June 29, 2007 #43 Share Posted June 29, 2007 Germany should ban judeo-christian actors and see if theres a backlash.
