Residents of a small village in England have been experiencing a spate of unexplained phenomena.
The strange series of events began when locals discovered that their car doors would spontaneously lock and unlock for no discernible reason. Sometimes the phenomenon would result in someone being trapped inside their vehicle while at other times they would be unable to get in.

The problem only seems to be affecting a specific set of streets within the village but has to date been reported by more than 30 car owners.
The phenomenon has become such a nuisance that the area has been dubbed "The Summercourt Triangle" while locals have taken to suggesting that the cars have been "possessed".

Several drivers have attempted to fix the issue by changing their key fobs or by taking their cars in to a garage but nothing has helped. A local school secretary has also expressed her concerns about the dangers posed by the problem after a child was found locked inside a car.

Investigations are ongoing but to date the mystery remains unsolved.

First I've heard of this. My question is how many of these door locks are electronic, and how many are manual door locks. Does this only happen with the electronic locks, or is it also the other kind as well? Yah, forgot about the Canneto di Caronia ,the town in italy with the weird problem of i think it was fires or something.

Door sensors and the majority of traffic lights work on infra red, they dont transmit a radio signal so can't interfere with radio signals. Yes they do..... http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Anti-shoplifting-EAS-RF-Antenna-Sensor_406650923.html?s=p Traffic controlers (RF) http://www.iosrjen.org/Papers/vol3_issue7%20(part-5)/G03754352.pdf

Yes they do..... I cant see anti shoplifting sensors fitted on a residential street, my understanding from the article is that it happens on one close or cul de sac. As for the traffic controllers, its all well and good linking a PDF download, but if you peruse the last page, the systems you have picked is patented under US law and operated in the US, although appears to have been translated by a potato. The article relates to a county in england, a country which I inhabit and TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE does not operate such a system. I have never witnessed a traffic light changing for an amb... Does this only happen with the electronic locks, or is it also the other kind as well? Yah, forgot about the Canneto di Caronia ,the town in italy with the weird problem of i think it was fires or something. All door locks are manual in a sense. Its a creature comfort to have a fob and a little solenoid do the work for you. Im certain its the central locking system which operates all the door locks simultaneously, people are too lazy to put the key in the lock to open the d... [More]

UFO's spotted in the area at the time.

This reminds me of the story of this kid in the Netherlands who had a universal remote control and was changing channels on people's TVs, turning them on and off, etc. I'm not saying this is an exact parallel, but I have to wonder.

Yeah and Bigfoot as well getting shadowed by Niburu during watching a flying pyramidal shaped lighthouse during a housewarming party of a subsurface Illuminati vegetarian drive-in restaurant in the south of Wiltshire. (BTW, the crop-circles to go are tasty there.)

The thing is, electric locks within a car vehicle have a specific key code for that vehicle. There was an issue in the US last year when a Mexican university student studying in El Paso was arrested for smuggling cocaine across the border checkpoint. The clincher was, he brought a car from a dealership in Dallas which had connections to the Mexican cartels which gave cartel members key codes that allowed the cartel members to remotely unlock the car, open the trunk and stash the drugs in. Sounds elaborate but my theory is that unless these hackers have specific key codes for a car's central lo... [More]

It could even be a weird natural thing, like magnetic hill in New Brunswick, Canada has magnetism to go up hill in a car while in neutral. Maybe something in the area is producing random radio signals in certain places. Must be some kid with a whole load of remote keyfobs messing around with the neighbours. Also, Magnetic Hill in New Brunswick is not magnetic. It's just an optical illusion because of the countryside surrounding the road. It's freaky the first time you experience it but you soon figure it out.
