'Storm Area 51' is happening all over again

The infamous event, which saw millions of sign-ups back in 2019, is set to take place again later this year.
Originally billed as a tongue-in-cheek effort to determine if there are aliens at the secretive US base, the event titled "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us" was originally posted on Facebook in July.

It quickly became something of an Internet phenomenon with a whopping 2.5 million signups.

Sadly though the event was marred by military warnings, organisational problems and a rather poor showing given that only a tiny fraction of those who had signed up actually attended on the day.

This hasn't stopped efforts to attempt the whole thing again this year, however.
A recent posting by the owners of the aptly-named Little A'Le'Inn in Rachel, Nevada has revealed that 'Rachel Alienstock 2020' will be taking place across three days starting on September 10th.

While there are no other details at the moment, an employee told Mashable in a phone call that there is a chance that it could be postponed until the following year due to unforeseen complications.

As things stand, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

If it's anything like last year's event, organizing and hosting it could prove something of a challenge.

And as with last time, it was not a big turn out. I suspect the same will happen again.

Well, as it seems the locals are thinking of putting it on to make a few bucks I hope they have a good time, then. Every village needs a fair, however humble... or odd

I agree, also if they were looking to truly get it going proper and bring diversity and money my suggestion would be to make a campout music festival.

It worked for Roswell, NM for a few years.

If you do expect for radiation, because Area 51 was a test site for nuclear bombs.

If that were true there would be no one allowed near it.  It has been 75 years since the tests at the Trinity site and no one is allowed in except once a year when they have a bus tour and you are not allowed to get out of the bus.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity_(nuclear_test) P.S.  The MacDonalds are still not allowed anywhere near their ranch.

It will become a yearly festival.

Those were the above ground tests. The underground tests lasted into the 21st century.

If you think the underground tests cause radiation above ground why do you think the area is not quarantined?

A large portion is quarantined, and the public isn't generally allowed on the base.
