Foo Fighters
Small luminous balls of light spotted on numerous occassions by pilots during the second world war. These strange coloured balls of light were witnessed both over Europe and the Pacific and are considered to be a convincing example of the UFO phenomenon.
Most people believed that the objects were some form of experimental aircraft being used by the Germans however there were no reports of attacks from the objects. Some pilots reported sighting formations of Foo Fighters on long flights following them for miles through the skies. Sightings of 'metallic, transparent and glowing balls' intensified in June 1944 in correlation with the use of Nazi 'flying bombs' and the first ballistic missiles which may have accounted for some of the later sightings but despite this the phenomenon is considered a true mystery and no satisfactory conclusion was ever reached.
