race of superhumans is inevitable anyway... everyone will want to have better augmentations and implants.

I figure that by the time legislators start debating the ethics or merits of anything, someone, somewhere had already pulled it off... I imagine that someone has already cloned a human being. race of superhumans is inevitable anyway... everyone will want to have better augmentations and implants.

As attractive as the superhuman possibilities are, technology is a two-edged sword. It has given us the Internet, space flight and dog chow but it has also severely damaged our Earth with desertification and a depleted ozone layer as well as created superviruses that we haven't even begun to control. We don't know the long-term effects of GM foods and mucking about with our DNA might very well endanger the human race. We might end up looking like bugs. Welcome to the hive.
