Cathedral beehive in the shape of a cross

Buzzing merrily on their way from A to B, the swarm decided to take a breather on a fence post. And for some mysterious reason the thousands of bees formed themselves into the shape of a crucifix - outside Wells Cathedral in Somerset.

The unusual sight was captured on camera by 25-year-old Rob Handy, who himself keeps bees at his home in the nearby village of East Harptree. He said: "It was so appropriate that the swarm had formed a cross.

Nice picture, I have to laugh a little with the idea that the bees somehow formed a cross just because there on church grounds. Don't get me wrong, people are free to believe in what they want, but when I see an article like this, hinting that the divine has intervened, I laugh. Lets take a down to earth look at this situation. Maybe just maybe the post and chain that the bees are swarming on already forms a cross or "T" like millions of other chain rope barriers. And maybe theres so many bees that they have overflowed to the easiest possible place, down the pole and off to either side. I see a bunch of bees swarming on a pole doing what bees do naturally.

Yes but that's why the bees were near the chain in the first place, because maybe of devine intervention.

It always gets me how people think devine intervention wouldn't include practical applications. As if that because it was divine intervention the bee's must be hovering in place without the chain or what not. It's a bit much of a coincidence that this is occuring near a church. I say its a devine message of the bee's disapearing. :P

Or not.

Call me blind, but what I see in that photograph barely resembles a cross. What I see is coincidence.

Ugh... The reason is due to the bee's staying on a tight group, around a post and around the chain that connects each post.

You have to be very desperate to think it's a sign from their god.

And believe me, that was one tasty sandwich!

I'm so glad to see I wasn't the only one that laughed at the "Holy Bees"
