Fingerprint grip theory rejected

The theory that fingerprints developed in order to improve grip by increasing friction between a person's hand and an object that they are holding has been disproved by scientists at the University of Manchester.

"Scientists say they have disproved the theory that fingerprints improve grip by increasing friction between people's hands and the surface they are holding."
