A test able to help estimate how long you have left to live will go on sale in the UK later this year.
The test works by measuring the length of your telomeres, vital structures at the tips of your chromosomes. It is believed that telomere testing will become widespread within the next ten years and could influence everything from lifestyle to life insurance policies.
A blood test that can show how fast someone is ageing – and offers the tantalising possibility of estimating how long they have left to live – is to go on sale to the general public in Britain later this year.

Would you really want to know??? What a burden.

Hmmm? How do they factor in drunk drivers, hospital mistakes and crazy people with guns? Stupid stupid stupid. Just another reason for people to say "why bother". Insurance companies have been doing this for years with mathematics and I believe necromancy. Pretty soon no one will be able to buy insurance.

Hmmm? How do they factor in drunk drivers, hospital mistakes and crazy people with guns? They don't. It's strictly the probability of death by natural causes.

"A blood test that can show how fast someone is ageing...£435" Well, if it says more than one day at a time, I'll want my money back!

Interesting, sounds too good to be true.

Is this scientific fortune-telling? £435 but for £870 you get a good result? lol

Save your money. Just give up smoking, drinking and sex. You might not live to be 100, but it sure will seem like it.

Why would someone really want to know how fast they age and likely how old they'd be when they die? Seriously, what good is it going to be on anyone to know when they'll die. Burden much?

Well, I have a mirror and friends. Got a pretty good idea how fast I'm aging. What's the point of a blood test? They can't test your beliefs.
