Tasmanian resident Brendon Hill filmed a series of strange lights in the skies over Mayfield last week.
"On Thursday I dragged my three mates outside to show them and they were bewildered - none of them could describe what they saw or could come up with an explanation of what it was," he says. The local meteorological office has said that they received no reports at that time.
A Tasmanian man has described as "spooky" an unexplained flashing object he saw in the night sky above Launceston last week. The lights flashed white and green for several minutes before turning out in the sky high above the tree line, he told the Launceston Examiner.
I agree that what is on the film is genuine footage. Most likely anyway. But I'm also convinced that it wasn't necessarily in the sky. After toying around with an attempted overlay it is clearly in line with the ridge behind Mayfield. Exactly which is uncertain at this point. But a dusk shot showing the city lights and geography would go a long way in helping to determine that. I don't expect that Brendon Hill will provide something like that, but I haven't asked him either. Unfortunately GoogleEarth doesn't have up-to-date imagery from the location, so it is hard to say what it might actually... [More]
Sorry to disappoint, these are images of my house at night. I have 6 metal halide lamps arranged to light the surrounding bush. When I ignite the lamps, they are initially green and warm up to a bright white. There are large trees in front of the house and in the breeze, they would make the lights flicker in this fashion. The ironic thing is that on the night in question, I was lighting up for a colleague in Riverside to locate my house through the night sky. The following Saturday, I had a friend around for the first time since we built the place so I lit up again (the footage on the web) Thi... [More]

Praxus did that look like east side Brisbane to you? I'm sure I've seen that BUILDING before. [see 0:14] do you mean me? - Sorry I haven't seen the vid in question - if you want I'll check it out in a few days (can't access videos till the 11th)
What crap, any like-minded person who thought they were filming something out of the ordinary, would be heard on audio speaking ,ooooooing, aaaahhhhhhing, Don't you think?
I would like to see this same camera shot during the day to see just what we are looking at. Also right as the light flash off, you can see that there is still something there. It almost looks as if someone just turned out their lights. I would certainly be thrilled if this were a real sighting, but this one leaves too much off the plate. My thoughts exactly. If they showed a daytime video of the same exact location and one could only see the sky around the area where the lights appeared it would help a lot. Not to say it couldn't still have been hoaxed but it would eliminate the cars/people o... [More]
