An international team of scientists believes NASA found alien life on Mars over 35 years ago.
During the Viking mission the lander conducted an experiment that involved analyzing soil samples for signs of life. While the results at the time indicated geological rather than biological activity, new studies in to the data collected have convinced some scientists that what the lander found was indeed evidence of life forms. Biologist Joseph Miller is one of scientists involved in the new research. "The ultimate proof is to take a video of a Martian bacteria," he said. "They should send a microscope - watch the bacteria move. On the basis of what we've done so far, I'd say I'm 99 percent sure there's life there."
New analysis of 36-year-old data, resuscitated from printouts, shows that NASA found life on Mars, an international team of mathematicians and scientists conclude in a paper published this week.
