Rarely before have people read so much about Jesus. The religious thriller “The Da Vinci Code” has emerged as one of the most successful books of all time. Now, the Catholic Church is reluctantly taking a look at it.Apparently, there are people who find the Bible boring, just as there are those who yawn when it comes to art history or religion.

But combine these with sex, conspiracy theories and a thriller plot, and you get precisely the right combination to mesmerize even the most lazy reader.

It's a nice, marvalous book. And a very creative and clever author. And it's also very plagiarism and very blasphemous. A very stupid and hippocrit guy can be easily fooled and toxicated.

The novel is in a twisted historical fact trying to decapited the christianity faith. It's not only targeting the Catholics in the Vatican but also all who believes the devine wisdom of Jesus Christ.

Actually, those issues that tackled in that novel are so very classique romours for centuries that was passed for generations by group of people they tought that was truth but rather full of lies and full of hatred.

So, those who are reading it now or who wants to read remembered you already warned. And remember, your soul is precious don't waste it to somebody else.

Peace Brother and Sister God is Great.

^You jusy copied your earlier post and by reading this are you trying to say that I am giving my soul to Dan Brown and therefor will be damned to hell for not giving it to your god!?!?!?!?!

Its fiction, plan and simple, if it gets people to think about different theories surrounding the church then good on Dan Brown, getting people to think about something is trully an achievement.

There's nothing wrong with Mr Dan Brown or reading his novel Da Vinci Code.

Mr Dan Brown already got his fame and fortune, and gave inspiration for those who is in question in their FAITH. A novel, book or other for reading gives information, and information are essential tools to gain knowledge and experience and inspiration and so on. But is wisdomation still important? Do you get any wisdom? or what kind of wisdom? Is it good for yourself? Is it good for the other? And, Wisdom is only you and only you can only knew, can only see, can only feel.

Its not a theory. Theories are backed up by evidence and carefully researched. The Davinci Code is a series of blatent lies mixed with deliberate missinterpritations that rehashes a bunch of largely discredited ideas and presents them as a conspiracy. The problem is the general public is so happy when any one bad mouths christianity people fall for this sillyness hook line and sinker with out bothering to check in the info. See The Davinci Hoax for a detailed refuting of the majority of "facts" presented in the book. The book is 100% fiction with a hand ful of real places, people and societies all taken out of any historicaly accurate context. Frankly if I was the Opus Dei I'd file suit for slander.

Its just a work of fiction, if people dont realise that then they shouldn`t be reading it in the first place.

ITs a work of fiction that claims to be based in facts thats the problem. Browne claims that hes drawing on factual history and groups to write his book. Instead he misrepresents a lot of things and makes the Opus Dei look like a bunch of thugs. I honestly have to wonder how pagans would react if I wrote a book suggesting Gardner was influenced by an ancient sect of Satanists and that his known ties to Aleister Crowley were proof with it then fabricated ties between him and the illumanati, and Giles De Rais if they'd be as tolerant of an "alternate" theory of the founding of there religion as they expect christians to be of this fiction.

When he states that its based on facts he shoudl also go on to state that form these facts this is how he interpreted it and what he believes actually happend or something similar to that. Stating that its all based on facts is quite misleading, but once again its fiction and if you are a religious person who should be able to stop out what s untrue or what you believe to be untrue.

just as AztecInca and others said, the book is fiction and should be considered as such. all the fuss that is being generated about blasphemy and not are just doing an enormous favour to Dan Brown...they are perfect advertising.

...so is the Bible, an intricate and fantastical story woven around some historical events.

Yes, I do find it slightly ironic...the general arguement seems to be that the Da Vinci code should be ignored, because, while it contains a few loose historical facts, the vast majority of it is either made up, or simply unsupported by evidence.

The same thing could be said of the bible huh.gif I don't really see why one should be considered any better than the other...at least the Da Vinci code admits to being a novel.

Echoing what everyon has said - and the obvious - The Da Vinci Code is a novel. However, it does arouse your curiousity. After reading The Da Vinci Code I started, and still am, reading other non-fiction historical books; doing research of my own, and coming to my own conclusions.

What I think is interesting is that if Christians are as strong in their faith as they all claim to be, why is a work of fiction shaking their foundation?

And good point, Seraphina.

Please the bible contains a large volume of historical accounts filtered through religious perception. Dan Browne's book contains a large volume of blatent lies and missinformation filtered through his liberal views. One has supporting evidence the other is another bit of liberal propoganda aimed at making Christians look bad.

Shimmering timber!!!! Let's get that Nacromancer Mr Dan Browne tie him up at the town center. let's burn him alive together with his literature. aye aye.

oh, hehehe, i just forgot, my town folks that was a our primetime entertainment since the early days or i say for a millinia now.

The Pope John Paul 2 you knaow that old guy at the Vatican, yeah sure he is old and sick but he is so so so very strong in his FAITH no matter what. And the Pope already say sorry last year, for what have the Chatolic have done on those poor souls since the early days.

In the early century, the early Catholics faith was so very young and yet so very, very powerful, just like young dude and dudettes they are young and very restless.

And last but not least, please don't mess up with Christian Faith it will be a great cursed and a big big bad karma. And too bad we Catholic don't do that now with those kind terrible work or our primetime entertainment. We Catholic already learned that this world is only temporarily. This world is only our playground our school. And after the fun, the learning we Catholic knows where to go, we know where our way. And also most of all we know our mission, to save ur pretty lonely souls, by spreading the Devine Wisdom.

And now is the time for Spiritual Revolution!!! Don't be like a walking zombie.

Hmmm so are they gonna burn this book like the harry potter books? Oh No! Some boy with a scar on his head is going to come after me with his magic, what magic? It's literature! It's a book, speculation, plain and simple. Instead of attacking, have an open minded and know it;s just "speculation". It seems no one else seems to care about other ufo books/paranormal books/ and church bashing ones.

What will you do if 3rd World War suddenly broke today, then nuclear storms has just arrived? Destruction, invasion, abuductions, raping, killing is everywhere around the four corner of the earth. . . . .

or what if, Earthquake suddenly occur in your own country, just like the earthquake that happened last Monday night in Indonesia where thousands have been died and still on counting?

If, in your mind, in your sub-concious is Harry Potters famous hoccus foccus or the Da Vinci's Code breaking about the mona lisa smiles, the last supper, Magdalene wife the mistress of jesus christ, the illumaniti or other secret societies, and so on. . . . . instead of the Divine Wisdom of the Lord Jesus Christ that comes from the God the Father thru the intersession of the Holy Spirit.

Maybe you know how, but how about the others who don't know. That's why as I or we Catholic, as a faithful Christian know our mission. And our mission, is to spread and deliver the word of truth of true SALVATION.

Few things offend me quite as much as evangelical religion...holding everyone else's veiws in such contempt that they insist you either join them in their beliefs, or burn in hell.
