Engulfed in the blackness of a late summer night, a teenage Navy recruit walked down the quiet country highway. Suddenly, a huge object loomed above him. Throwing himself to the ground to avoid being hit, he huddled against a stone wall. The blood drained from his face.

The time was around 2 a.m. The date was September 3, 1965. Thus began the "Incident at Exeter," a series of sightings officially qualified as a legitimate visit from an unidentified flying object.

It was either 1965 or spring of 66 when I saw my first (of two in my life) UFO.It was 10:30 or 11:o'clock PM. In thoughs days my family ran a Farm in Green County, Wisconsin. My Father and I had taken a cow to a sales Barn in the town of Monticello and was nearing the city of Monroe when I saw an object on my Dads side of the truck, hovering over a field not far from the road. I was 12 years old and thought it might be a helicopter out of Tuax Air Base in Madison. So I asked dad what it was. He looked, put his foot down on the gas peddle, and stared strait a head. When I asked again he Said " It was nothing!" We went to a restaurant still open, where he had two quick beers. I remember this because my dad didn't drink, so this was strange to me. He still said he saw nothing, but some thing shook him up!

Any way shortly after this happened two Women coming from a Bar reported being followed by a UFO near there. Dad passed it off as to much drink.

This sticks in my memory because it was the First time I ever saw my Dad Scared.

Ah, this brings back memories. My first UFO book was the Incident at Exeter.

IIRC, some of the debunking explanations given for this incident were more unbelievable than the claim of alien flying saucers.

Thanks for this story, Saruman. thumbsup.gif
