news icon rVirtuSphere provides a mechnical basis for truly immersive virtual reality environments, permitting the user to move about in virtual space by simply walking. The device consists of a large hollow sphere which is mounted on a specially designed platform that allows the sphere to rotate freely as the user walks in any direction.

(Note that the open hatch in the picture above is closed during use.) The user wears a head-mounted display, which provides the virtual environment.

Yeah that gaming idea is a nice thouch but I think some people will get manipulated by this machine. And they are done playing, they will thinks they are still in a gaming world and maybe even hurt other people by this. You guys remember that kid that played GTA and afterwards killed 3 people? Or those German kids that started shooting on school after playing Counter-Strike and killed 6 people? Dont you guys think this will be even more powerful then the average PC games, PS2, XBOX?

Not really. It's not the video games fault that anyone did anything, it's the parents for allowing them to have the game. Also, how do they know their violence came from these games? Just trying to blame something other then themselves?

It looks very limited to me.. I think the best virtual reality would be trough our brains pretty much like in the matrix.

Oh, BABY! Me commanding the bridge of a starship, beating the cr*p out of a Gorn, Laying waste to entire fleets of nasty enemies.........

I'M READY!

I agree completely. The next phase of our evolution will be to bond our wet brains directly to computer interfaces. Imagine the power if we don't have the delay of our clumsy hands pawing at keyboards or grabbing for mice!

Think it - DONE!

I'M READY!

This will put an interesting spin on gaming.

Sorry to divert this thread but, Dude, your tag-line sings to me.

"Won't it be dull when we rid ourselves

Of all these demons haunting us

To keep us company

Won't it be odd to be happy like we

Always thought we're supposed to feel

But never seem to be

Hard to admit I fought the war on drugs

My hands were tied and the phone was bugged

Another died and the world just shrugged it off`

~~Barenaked Ladies-War On Drugs-Everything To Everyone~~"

I'm listening to Wagner while typing. Please forgive my whimsy. Lohengrin is gripping me.

Let's go back to virtual-reality spheres now.....
