Human hands emit light

Human hands glow, but fingernails release the most light, according to a recent study that found all parts of the hand emit detectable levels of light. The findings support prior research that suggested most living things, including plants, release light.

Since disease and illness appear to affect the strength and pattern of the glow, the discovery might lead to less-invasive ways of diagnosing patients.

That sounds entirely plausible to me.

I found an article which indicates that the human eye is capable of detecting a single photon under the right conditions. And that main article states that you can increase the number of photons given off through various chemical processes.

This caused me to think of party levitation. I did that as a kid all of the time with the other girls for fun at gatherings and I imagine a lot of you did also. However it works, it does work.

The biggest contrast in weight to our ability was tossing my 150 something pound cousin into the air. There were only four of us that did it, eight fingers of little third and fourth grade girls, thowing that heavy a weight up into the air.

Very, very interesting. I practiced on seeing my own aura once, and I was starting to see "something" around me and my cousin. It lasted for a few days, but ever since I've stopped paying attention to it, I no longer see it. I use to just pass it off as my eyes fooling with me after trying to see aura for so long. Not so sure anymore.. =P

The way I have seen it done is that the four levitators alternate placing their hands on the persons head, and when 21 is reached, they all lift the person over the chair, using only their little fingers.

I am a surgeon practicing complementary medicine ( conventional medicine and energy healing). My hands emit a visible faint bluish white light when I do healing. Sometimes when this light is directed to a darkened area of the skin it lighten the dark color. In few instances a weak spark was seen and heard by the patients and watchers when I touched the painful area and immediately the pain disappears. When I touch or directs my hands on the painful part of the body of the patient the pain immediately diminishes and sometimes disappears. The patient feels a sense of well being instantly and most of the time their lab results improve significantly when tested after, specially the diabetics. Does this light intensify the effect of healing?

Does anybody have any advice on how to control the amount of light they give off? I've heard that humans are bbioluminescent before, and ever since, I've wanted to be able to glow in the dark. Mostly for a party trick than anything else.

Not sure if this was addressed but when one speaks of "light" we are not necessarily speaking of visible light.

The electromagnetic spectrum is also simplistically referred to as "light" and only a very narrow band of this wide array is visible to us hence "visible" light.

Is it possible for the body to emit miniscule amounts of electromagnetic energy? Maybe but I am not sure that it is enough to affect anything.

That is so cool! Not necessarily in the religious sense of the word, but you have been blessed with such a gift.

Isn't the phenomenon described in the thread topic somehow related to the Kirlian photography process?

The image seen in the Kirlian photography is a brighter and clearer image of the light coming from living things. I think this is energy becoming visible with Kirlian photography.
