Astronomer captures UFO, Moon atmosphere

news icon rCharles Olsen, 52, believes his "exclusive" photograph will challenge popular science with proof of extraterrestrial beings and prove there's atmosphere on the moon. "I have the evidence," he says, revealing a series of photos which he took one cold October evening nearly two years ago.

He learned through the evening news a rare lunar eclipse was set for cosmic alignment that very evening.

Lets see these pics buddy. If there is proof in these pics they will not be published and what ever copies this guy has will soon go missing. He better start mailing out copies or post them on the net before they disappear. This guy is a joke.

Yeah, where is the proof? What kind of energy are you talking about? :hmm: Look if the moon had an atmosphere, it wouldn't have so many craters. HAnd we wouldn't see its surface so clearly from earth.

Cheers

the craters are obvious on the Moon... Mars atmosphere has eroded craters... IMO

I don't even understand why this is featured as a news article? I mean, I would believe the National Aeronautics and Space Administration would know if there was an atmosphere on the moon, don't ya agree? So what, NASA and the US government lied about the moon having an atmosphere because they were afraid of all the people that would travel to the moon and breath and stuff?

And what the hell does that photo have to do with aliens or extraterrestrial civilisations?

Seriously, why give this nutter any news space at all, it will only spawn others looking to make a quick buck and get some attention aswell.

No NASA and the US government wouldn't know seeing as how we've never actually been to the moon..... ;)

That's actually smoke coming from his bong. If that were coming from a crack pipe, he wouldn't have a camera or a computer. He would have already pawned those...lololol :D

Me too. I don't understand the picture. But I read half the article.

But I agree with everyone else. Where's the proof of this atmosphere?

Your natural satellite has no atmosphere, other than a few stray particles of preintiamte matter. Fact is, your Moon cannot sustain any appreciable atmosphere other than the heaviest gases. Those gases would produce a pressure with the low gravity of less than one millibar. However, there are no heavier gases on your Moon.

Of course there is water ice at the poles and only because it is frozen. That water ice was placed there by comets and possible asteroids releasing trapped ice.

Don't mean to thread-jack here...

But, smallpackage - the one question I have for the sites in your signature is:

Why did someone put so much time into debunking or singleing out Christianity? Why was there nothing focused on religion in general - which was clearly what this guys top MO was.

Seems to me like someone is scared of Christianity.... just my observation.

Save the religious debate for the bar, gentlemen!

So he has proof, but he won't show us the actual proof? Am I supposed to click on the link? Next he'll be teasing us with sketches of something he saw on a Discovery Channel special.

He has captured this proof with a 35mm camera

What is so special about this camera that it can detect an atmosphere on the moon that has escaped the attention of nearly 4 centuries of telescopic observations by professional scientists and nearly half a century of exploration by spacecraft.

This statement puzzles me:

I knew this was going to be a big deal, a big opportunity," he said, adding a full lunar eclipse only occurs every 120 years.

There are several lunar eclipses each year. For example as well as the total lunar eclipse of 28th October 2004 (which must be the one he observed) there was also one on 4th May that year.

This topic has left me completely confused.

1. I don't know what the hell this man is talking about.

2. People are saying it's not proof, yet don't say why, or what's wrong with this so called "proof".

People aren't saying it isn't proof. The point they are making is that this man claims to have had undeniable proof for two years but he doesn't say what this proof is.

The photo in the article looks like no total lunar eclipse I have ever seen.

"The photograph was taken from Earth. Not space, nor lunar orbit. The atmosheric clouds were those of Earth. A planet with a very dense amosphere with water vapor and heavy and lighter gases.""Those clouds in the picture were of water vapor and dust, common on Earth."

"Spock here" " How about coming back onboard?" "Yes, Jim, Mr. Scott, beem me up."" Aye"
