Uploader comment: Well, I've finished my first contest entry! I'll be sending this piece to Oregon for a judging in a national contest in the beadweaving category. There are a lot of extremely talented artists that enter this specific contest every year, and I don't really expect to place, but I'm hoping that perhaps I'll get lucky! The Grand Prize is $2500 which I could totally use! haha.
This piece I think I will call Northwest Blues. It is a choaker length necklace and the center crystal sits perfectly in the hollow of the throat--trust me, that was hard to calculate! It contains hundreds of sparkling emerald green crystals, 6 Swarovski rivoli stones, 2 Lemon Chinese Chrysoprase stones, about 100 Chrysocolla round beads, and a beautiful genuine Aquamarine briolette tear drop. The clasp is a simple sterling silver S-hook. I think all and all, this took me about 20 hours to complete. This piece is SUPER bling and it just sparkles like it's battery operated. haha.
Today, I'll be taking this piece to a professional photographer to photograph from several angles... when I have those, I may post them!
