Uploader comment: I took this picture at the Natural History Museum in Vienna, and can't explain that strange light. It wasn't visible when I took the picture. Any rational explanations would be much appreciated!

Energy rod?? It's an insect or a speck of dust moving through the shot and reflecting the flash.

pretty big speck of dust... always thought "speck" meant "small"... hmmmm.

It's a hair caught in the flash, out of focus, I see these shots ALL the time

Agreed katherineelvira! Nice to see someone applying common sense and logic around here. Given my extensive background and the rules I've setup for my own investigations group (Consisting of two F.B.I. Agents that I went through Paramilitary Training with, A Professor of Psychology at the University of Colorado, a Detective with the Denver Police Department, Myself and my credentials and then just regular people to round out the group) when it comes to photography, still and motion, is that we will not accept "orbs,energy rods, mist," and the like. its a small insect moving quickly across the shot and iluminated for the split second the apperture was open!
