Uploader comment: Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 on it's devastating approaches to Jupiter. Due to the extreme forces of Jupiters gravity field, the comet broke up into many smaller peices [as seen above] as it made it's way to it's historic 'rendezvous' with the giant planet in July 1994.
