Uploader comment: You can check out the history and srory behind the tunnel here: http://www.oconeecountry.com/stumphouse.html I frequently visited the tunnel as a kid and recently took a trip back there. I remember when you could walk to the abrupt end where financial issues caused them to abort their attepmts, but now the gates within the tunnel are locked and you can't go all the way in. Its still a beautiful place and has many good hiking trails.
