Uploader comment: In possibly the most boring image ever posted to UM, this in an actual size shot of the Sun for comparison purposes (see thread). As standard cameras cannot stop down far enough to get a true size image of the Sun (it's brightness causes it to bloom outwards or 'flare'), I used a DSLR stopped down to f11 (I probably could have gone to f22, but didn't go that far to prevent diffraction being an issue), and fitted with an adjustable ND filter, set to near maximum at about a 6 f-stop reduction (or around ND100 for those who use the other ND rating system)
