fact people see what they want to see so if your looking for an alien in the smoke its more than likely youll pattern things together and see it.

Smoke always makes odd shapes...everything is in the eyes of the one looking.... me i see a skull...but it's only smoke...

As already stated. When looking for something in smoke patterns, photos steamed windows etc you will generally pattern things in your mind and see what you want to see. If you look up at the clouds you will see many visages of things you know.
