Uploader comment: The sun has been quiet for a few days, but erupted with an M-class flare that peaked at 9:47 PM EDT on May 17, 2012. These images from the joint ESA/NASA mission the Solar Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) show a coronal mass ejection (CME) that was associated with the flare.
