Man discovers mysterious 'object from space' on remote forest trail

The peculiar object was found quite by accident along a trail in Haywood County, North Carolina.
Justin Clontz, a groundskeeper at the Glamping Collective campsite, was shocked when he came across a strange charred object along the nearby forest trails.

Measuring an inch thick and around 3-4ft across, the mystery object was so heavy and unwieldy that Clontz had to resort to using a lawn mower to tow it back to the camp grounds.

Almost completely black in color, the object had several metal plates and rivets attached to it while its surface was covered in what looked like charred and frayed carbon fiber.

Given the place where it was found, Clontz believes that it fell from the sky and possibly even from space.
"We don't know what it is," he said. "We just know that it's not from up here."

"It's a one in a million chance that it lands, especially if it landed somewhere off the trail in the woods you'd have never found it but it just happened to land on the trail."

Despite the weight of the object, nobody had heard any noise when it landed.

As for what it could be, several suggestions have been put forward. Some believe that it's most likely to be from an aircraft, while others subscribe to the notion that it is a piece of space debris.

You can check out a local news report covering the find below. What do you think it is ?

Interestingly, a Saskatchewan farmer found two large objects that look similar to the one in the article. Astronomy professors believe the pieces came from a SpaceX rocket that flew back in February. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatoon/space-debris-farm-field-1.7204312
