Speaking on the Joe Rogan podcast recently, David Grusch opened up on his thoughts about aliens and angels.
Grusch, who previously worked with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and held top-level clearance at the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, entered the public eye back in 2023 when he made the startling claim that the US government had long been in possession of "intact and partially intact vehicles of non-human origin".
He later appeared at the subcommittee hearing on UFOs at the US House of Representatives where, citing "extensive interviews with high-level intelligence officials", he maintained that "non-human biologics" had been found at some of these crash sites and claimed that people had been "harmed or injured" as a result of government efforts to conceal this information.
Speaking to Joe Rogan on his podcast back at the end of December, Grusch also made a startling claim concerning the origin of angels and other spiritual beings found in the historical religious texts of various world religions.
He maintains that it is possible that early civilizations may not have been able to fully understand the nature and origin of extraterrestrial visitors, instead perceiving them as divine or spiritual messengers.
Many historical accounts of encounters with such beings - such as stories of them descending from the sky bathed in light or delivering telepathic messages - mirror modern descriptions of encounters with UFOs and extraterrestrial entities.
The consistencies found in such stories from different cultures, geographic regions and time periods, he argues, adds credence to the idea of a common explanation for them all.
His idea is certainly not a new one - Grusch is by no means the first to associate ancient stories with alien visitors - but he is perhaps the first major whistleblower to float such a concept.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, some religious groups have since come forward to criticize his comments, instead arguing that tales of angels are symbolic and rooted firmly in theological tradition.
