Pensioner photographs 'Close Encounters' UFO

What did the Scottish pensioner see in the sky that night ? Image Credit: sxc.hu
John Macdonald from Scotland managed to take an impressive picture of a strange, brightly lit object.
The 65-year-old had been driving home along rural roads in Perthshire at around 11pm on the night of February 28 of this year when he suddenly heard a peculiar noise coming from above his car.

When he looked up he caught sight of an enormous object with multiple rows of brights lights that seemed to be hovering just overhead. Astonished, he grabbed his camera and snapped a picture.

The undeniably impressive photograph, which looks like something out of the Steven Spielberg classic 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', has since generated a lot of debate online.

"It’s definitely a spacecraft of some sort," Macdonald told The Courier. "I don’t know whether I frightened it or not with the flash of the camera, because in the beat of a heart it was gone."

"I always thought there was something out there, but have never seen anything until now."

"There is no doubt in my mind. I know what I saw."

Nobody that comments on this site ever believes the articles or takes them at face value. Everything is a hoax or a misunderstanding but it just can't be real...so why bother? Thank you #24 Hi cindybee53, I think you have misread people on here....you see....many will read the articles, look at the claims, and when they EXPOSE them as a hoax it is because they have dug further than the OP or media reporter.....note: some reporters place the stories because it attracts people to their site or papers, they have no intentions of solving or even explaining the truth outright. Some will give some f... [More]

A crappy picture and wild tale and an unsubstantiated conclusion--of course it all has to be true.

If this was a report from sixty years ago, it would be a classic unsolved mystery of a UFO sighting and referred to and analyzed, over and over again. It's only it's immediacy and our easy access and familiarity with it that breeds contempt. All it lacks is the patina of age, partially shrouded by the mist of time to make it more evocative and alluring.
