NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer space telescope will be able to see neighbouring stars that have been up until now invisible to astronomers because they are too cold and dark. The launch is scheduled for next week.
A new NASA space telescope, the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, will allow astronomers to be able to see previously ‘invisible’ neighbouring stars, scientists claim.

by "invisible stars" do they mean brown dwarfs? It can refer to brown dwarfs (failed stars) or even very cool stars that are obscured by dust and it will also hunt down asteroids, I think the main mission purpose is to cataloug those cool stars and brown dwarfs for the most part because Nasa already has an asteriod hunter, an invisible star could very well refer to brown dwarfs
