A labrador retriever called Beau has been making headlines due to his alleged mathematical abilities.
The dog's owner David Madsen claims that Beau is able to bark the answer to basic mathematical problems. "He counts, he adds and subtracts, he can do some division and has memorized square roots," Madsen has said.
Labrador Retrievers are known for their hunting skills and friendly dispositions, but Beau, a black Lab who lives in Montana, is winning acclaim for his math abilities.

In the mid-sixties, a Boston terrier named Missie, from Denver, Colorado became famous for a similar talent. Missie would answer 'yes' and 'no' questions. Her big break came on Radio KTLN, New Year’s Eve, 1965, when she correctly predicted the exact date on which the transit strike crippling the ‘Big Apple’ would end.

I met a dog in Sarasota FL. named Maggie who was on the tonight show for having the same math skills. After a bunch of people asked her math questions that she answered correctly another individual blurted out, "Who was the 16th president!?!"... she was stumped.
