The cursed bread of Pont-Saint-Esprit 50 years ago has turned out to have been a CIA mind control experiment.
It happened in 1951, a quiet little village in France become struck with a sudden wave of hallucinations and insanity. It had been believed for some time that the incident was caused by accidental bread poisoning but an investigative journalist now believes that it had actually been an intentional experiment conducted by the CIA during the cold war.
A 50-year mystery over the 'cursed bread' of Pont-Saint-Esprit, which left residents suffering hallucinations, has been solved after a writer discovered the US had spiked the bread with LSD as part of an experiment.

It makes you wonder what other secret government activities we'll find out about in 50 years. Well, it's a long read but well worth the effort: HISTORY OF SECRET EXPERIMENTATION ON UNITED STATES CITIZENS

Reminds me edgewood arsenal when the cia??? Chenical licker, good call - dosing 2,800 soldiers up on Quinunclidinyl Benzilate must have sounded like a good idea at the time. The horrific experiments conducted by the army and CIA at Edgewood Arsenal and Mcgill University, unchecked by any responsible authority, only got worse. By 1959 ,LSD was a sideshow, compared with another chemical: Quinunclidinyl Benzilate, or B.Z. Incredibly, this drug possessed effects far more profound than LSD and which lasted for three days, although effects lasting as long as six days occurred at times. Between 1959 and 1... [More]

No other substances that I know of share this unique property. Another thing, why the tactical knife instead of the Bowie. For beheading, the Bowie is the weapon of choice. Do you know what the sharpened edge on the front a Bowie was used for? For me, the most versatile and meanest looking knives. I would just want to stop a threat...not behead or gut people lol besides a tactical knife was specifically designed for close quarter combat with other humans...the Bowie is dang good for animals now

The Salem Witch theory has already been shown to be false. In order for the smut, ergot, fungal name, to infect grain, it most be a year with abundant rainfall. Dendrologists have taken core samples from old trees in Salem, their analysis was that up till the so called possession, they residents of Salem were already in a three to five year drought, not the best of moisture for ergot. Puritan teen girls having their fun. No Ergot has been PROVEN to show effects like that of uhh I don't know where you are getting your facts in.*Just so we are straight, you are NOT agreeing in that Ergot... [More]

Read my previous posts in this topic, ergot was used in the ancient Greek mystery religions, it has to be cold water extracted. I have researched and studied ethnobotany, mycology, botany, and the entheogens pretty much my whole life, I think that qualifies me to speak facts on the subject! I don't quote out of outdated text books.

By the way, what does a microbiologist have to do with mycology?

The Greek goddess of agriculture; grain, Demeter, was always portrayed with stalks of grain in her hands, and always wore purple, the color of ergot.

Pretty interesting since Demeter was the major deity involved within the Eleusinian Mysteries.
