Avatar director James Cameron has convinced NASA to install a high resolution 3-D camera on its next Mars rover, Curiosity.
The high resolution 3-D camera will enable the new rover to take breathtaking images of the Martian surface and will according to Cameron help to capture the public's imagination. The mission is scheduled for launch in 2011.
After immersing movie-goers in the dazzling imaginary world of Pandora, "Avatar" director James Cameron is training his 3-D camera on a planet closer to home: Mars.

But theres more than rocks there, The dust devils would make for a great movie dont ya know, Now im wondering if Cameron has retained movie rights from Mars, There's actualy a huge amount of amazing scenery on Mars, but the Nasa rovers tend to shy away from those areas. I guess it's because they'd be difficult places to land, and move across. The Rovers work best in large flat areas.

What we need is a bunch of UAV's flying around taking pictures of mars. They wouldn't even have to be very big just a bunch of small ones, spread out over the surface. Then design a bunch of animal like rovers, to cover the different terrains.

Mars barely has any air to fly in, though... Would've been interesting though. This robot would do much better! And he has a gun! Well at least he's armed to defend himself from the Martian dustdevils!
