Strange saucer on Google Earth

Google Earth has taken many strange photographs over the years, one of them is this peculiar saucer shaped object.
While some are keen to point out that the unusual saucer is similar to the descriptions of UFOs in many case reports others favour more down-to-Earth explanations.
Google Earth has compiled a photo gallery of mysterious images taken by satellite above our planet. The bird's-eye photos include an "unidentified flying object" that appears to hover over a field, crop circles, concentric shapes etched into the earth, strange patterns, and advertising that can only be seen from the air.

Hmmm. This UFO hovered there long enough for them to build a parking lot and a road leading right up to it. "That ain't no friggin Christmas star, that's the light on top of the sewage treatment plant!"

I know this has be answered by Nibs (good work by the way) but there is something bugging me. All the shadows of trees etc are directly at 12oclock, however the round object's shadow is at 10-11 oclock...hope this makes sense.. could it be that because it is higher than the trees the sun catches it at a slightly different angle? sorry just curious?

The shadows don't seem to line up to me. Interesting that the story link has been removed. Cover up?

I love when these threads keep going... Anyone who thinks a satellite could cast a shadow like that on the ground is a little physics illiterate... I think we need to close this thread. Although some of the posts were entertaining

no hurricanes in Ireland Wrong It could be an alien craft over a barn stealing cows. no more stupid assumtions Actually his was a sensible assumption based on logic.
