US military baffled by mystery missile

A mysterious missile off the coast of California has US military officials scratching their heads.
The missile was described as "pretty big" and is headed north-west at a distance of 35 miles from the coast, theories range from a top secret project to a missile launched by amateurs.The Pentagon contacted the Navy, the Air Force and the Missile Defence Agency after the apparent launch north of Catalina Island and west of Los Angeles on Monday evening local time but none said it knew what had happened.
