Worsley Paranormal Group claimed to have found the spade used by notorious Moors murderer Ian Brady.
The team alleged to have discovered the corroded implement on Saddleworth Moor while searching for the remains of murder victim Keith Bennett however forensic analysis of the spade has been unable to confirm any connection to the killer. Keith's brother Alan Bennett has since lashed out on an Internet forum dedicated to the hunt for Keith's remains, stating that he was both offended and angered by the claims. The group were also said to have contacted Keith through a 'ghost box' machine.
"This is just another of several spades that have been found on the moor," said Alan. "It is not near any real area of interest to anybody but themselves. I have spoken about these people with the police and we all agreed their ‘evidence' was of the sort that did not warrant further consideration, to put it mildly."[!gad]The team alleged to have discovered the corroded implement on Saddleworth Moor while searching for the remains of murder victim Keith Bennett however forensic analysis of the spade has been unable to confirm any connection to the killer.
