Some of the UK's top psychics were invited to take part in a test designed to prove their abilities.
Several big names in the field such as Sally Morgan, Colin Fry and Derek Acorah were asked to participate however most of them refused to do so with the exception of Kim Whitton and Patricia Putt. The test was conducted at Goldsmiths University in London and was administered by Chris French, Simon Singh and Michael Marshall.
Each psychic was asked to sit behind a screen and write down a reading for each of five volunteer sitters. Once this had been done the sitters were asked to look through the readings and provide an accuracy score out of 10 based on how well the readings matched what they had actually been thinking.
The results returned an average score of around 3 overall, a figure that was considered statistically insignificant and insufficient to prove that either of the psychics had really been able to read the volunteers' minds.[!gad]Several big names in the field such as Sally Morgan, Colin Fry and Derek Acorah were asked to participate however most of them refused to do so with the exception of Kim Whitton and Patricia Putt. Our psychics and sitters were not allowed to communicate with each other in any way (other than psychically, of course!). Once all of the readings had been completed, the psychics were thanked and left the premises.
