Cases of crying blood are rare but not unheard of with some cultures assigning religious or spiritual significance to the condition. Far from being a sign from above however it is more likely that Olivia is suffering from haemolacria or some other rare medical condition characterized by bleeding from the eyes.

Doctors have been baffled by the case of a young Chilean woman who appears to cry tears of blood.
20-year-old Olivia not only weeps tears of blood but also complains of 'indescribable' pain in her eyes. The strange affliction started earlier this month and doctors initially believed she was suffering from an extreme case of conjunctivitis. As time has gone on however symptoms have continued and nobody has been able to offer a solution to help cure her condition.Cases of crying blood are rare but not unheard of with some cultures assigning religious or spiritual significance to the condition. A 20-year-old Chilean woman has told of the "indescribable" pain she has experienced since she began weeping tears of blood.
